Can't help but be sympathetic with the guy, if I had signed a 50 year long contract with Disney to exclusively play some green Mr Hyde ripoff character intended for kids, I'd be desperate to elevate this role, no matter how ludicrous it sounds

It's kinda of bummer that a lot of great Hulk runs are too complex for the rather overly-simplistic direction Disney has taken on the character. There a lot of great Hulk storylines through the eras and it's a bit of a bummer that they just want a big CGI monster that punches other CGI monsters, rather than any sort of characterization and narrative driven story that also happens to feature a giant green monster that punches things.

I'm not even talking "Darker and gritter reboot™", but things like "Planet Hulk" could be a great one-off sci-fi/fantasy film with both interesting character driven drama as well as giant CGI monsters that punch each other. We could see Hulk persona grow and change to the world as tries to protect his fellow gladiators and the world and defeat the Red King. You could also do HULK: Gray from the I think the early 2000's which was also more of a character driven narrative about Bruce's struggle keeping the giant gray monster from coming to life. it's grounded without being edgy. However because all of these things have to one giant product/"experience" or whatever nothing can even really remotely deviate from the MEGACORP's marketing plan.

These actors are grander versions of their themepark counterparts in that they will play the same character the same way in every performance until they no longer play the character. That rigdity must make acting un-fun after a year or so, I can't imagine it's fun unless you have some sort of input creatively.. Which really sucks when you think about it, unless you REALLY dig the role, I can't imagine wanting to do the same thing, the same way, everytime.

Shakespeare was right to not create a Shakespeare connected universe, good on ya bud.

I'd say the MCU at large is actually more like MacBeth in that it's a tale, told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing :among-drip:

To be angry, or not to be angry, that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to become a huge green giant against a sea of troubles
And by opposing end them. To rage—to smash,
It all; and by this smashing to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to: 'tis a consummation
    Devoutly to be wish'd. To rage, to smash;
To crush, perchance to pummel—ay, there's the rub:
For in that mayhem of violence what dreams may come,
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause—there's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life.

At least give her bigger arms than Spider-Twunk.

It feels like half of her gimmick is just towering over people.

Most of the MCU actresses don’t feel buff enough for their roles but also the guys only get that big on huge amounts of T and of course those actresses aren’t going to do that to their bodies for the live action equivalent of a bionicle movie

I say with the utmost seriousness that this may not actually be wrong, even if it's unpleasant in the present.

If human civilization endures a few more centuries, the current age of capeshit can and will be revisited with historical curiosity, and maybe re-enactments.

Counter to that: there are huge gaps in the historical record on culture. Whether the MCU is remembered 1,000 years from now depends more on storage method than quality

A lot of modern data storage is flimsy, prone to loss, or even intentionally lost. We're in a very brittle time that may leave remarkably little precise details of what happened and why, just strata layers of plastic trash.

Remember when Rome fell and there was an absence of historical documents immediately afterwards so great that we called it the dark ages? Yeah can’t relate
