How has the parent of a 3 year old not yet realized that kids do psycho shit for no deeper reason sometimes. When I was little I drew and wrote about people getting blown up and/or lit on fire and I turned out fine. Well, except for all the the ramifications of trauma from my adolescence. That said, you can continue to monitor your child’s attitudes towards death and harm to ensure they’re developing a healthy understanding of suffering, viewing it as something bad that shouldn’t be wished upon people under most circumstances.

surely suffering should never be wished on anyone. Self defence goes to use of violence to keep yourself and others safe but suffering is still a thing to minimise

Sometimes a little retribution is okay for those who cause and benefit from mass suffering
yeah but that's all punitive justice gets you. Cruel punishments don't make anything better for anyone a focus on making sure people can't be a danger to others is more practical
