A Genie has been enslaved and bound to a lamp. They offer you three wishes. Do you free the Genie with the first wish or the last wish?

Keep in mind, you can wish for literally anything with your free wishes.

Which way Western man?

Wish for fully automated space communism and that would be the only wish I'd need because there is no slavery under FALGSC so the genie would also be freed by this wish

I would kinda need to ask the genie a few questions. Not to victim blame or anything but maybe they were sealed in the lamp for a reason. They could be revisionists.

I'd want to get a hunch on the genie's character, on the risk that this turns into some sort of monkey's paw situation. So I'd ask the genie whether or not they believe that punching Nazis makes you a Nazi.

Normal people: "How do I know you won't trick me and do some kind of monkey's paw bullshit?"

Communists: "What are your thoughts on the third international?"

Consult with lawyer on wording of wishes, wish for FALGSC, something else good, genie freedom.

Less “enslavement” more “waiting around for the afternoon while we fill out some paperwork and then you’re free to go”

I've prepared my genie wish statements throughout my life, just in case.

I think my current first wish wording is, "Please immediately grant me what I believe I'm intending to wish for."

From each according their ability unto each according to the needs.

    Last wish.

The genie gets what they need with no apparent harm and minimal delay, and the genie uses their extraordinary abilities to help everyone else.

Note that this is distinctly different from just the pure utilitarian view.

Genies are tricksters and I do not trust one to fulfill my wishes in a satisfactory way. It'll twist my words and then laugh. If I wish for world peace he'd make everyone on Earth vanish. If I wish for worldwide communism he'd make Va*sh world chairman.

I have to assume the genie would only fulfill wishes in a proper way if they're of benefit to the creature itself, so yeah. Freedom on the first wish and then I'd beg to be left alone.

Plus you know after the genie is free to do as he wishes.

What if the genie is anticommunist and uses their freedom to undo your falgsc? Is it worth taking that risk?

free everyone baby! Genie included. From legal obligations (that includes both Genie Law and capital), from the limits of our weak, pathetic bodies, and from this foul euclidean geometry

Yeah, how'd they get enslaved in the first place? Have to give them a systemic and an individual solution.

Aren't genies (and djinn in general) some kind of lesser demon? Feels kinda :sus-deep: to just release that kind of thing at no cost.

Islamic lore generally views the djinn as the only beings besides humans that have free will. So some of them are good, some are evil, some are neutral, because they can choose how to act.

Yeah, they were created by god before god created humans, and were made out of "Smokeless fire". When god made Adam he told all the djinn to bow down before Adam and most of them did. Iblis, the most powerful djinn, refused. God was pissed but they made some sort of deal where Iblis and his followers could run around being douchebags until the end of time and then they'd get judged for their crimes.

Islamic mythology is a little weird about them, because usually they're still treated as dangerous spirits who do bad things because lol evulz, but since the have free will some are just pious Muslims who get on with their lives and just happen to be invisible.

Everyone knows you can't wish for more wishes but what they don't tell you is that you can wish for more genies. I use my wish to create a cascading chain of slave genies so that I can have everything I ever want in perpetuity. :ancap-good:

Wish 1: I wish I had four wishes.

Wish 2: I wish I was able to see through any genie bullshit and phrase my wishes to receive what I actually want.

Wish 3: Seriously, no monkey's paw business. I wish for you to grant wishes according to the spirit of the wish instead of the exact wording.

Wish 4: I wish for you to be free.

Wish 1 is undoing all systems of oppression and the genie is also freed.

Assuming no monkey's paw shenanigans: FALGSC > wish away all excess CO2 above pre-industrial revolultion levels > genie freedom. The effects of CO2 have a 10-15 year delay or something before we see their full effects, so even with FALGSC we'd still see the planet do some spicy shit.
