what's ya'lls take on it. I am rewatching it right now.
Ya know a Neil Blomkamp production wouldn't be too bad honestly.
You mean literally just Wikus from District 9 but with a gun and power armor?
well yeah but I am finding the militarized border with robots and human rights violators even more on the nose on 2022
Those medbeds are real and the Hollywood elites are hiding them
:meemaw:
At the very least he gave us Sharlto Copley, who is an absolute treasure. I love watching him, and he was by far the best part of Elysium
Yeah I think he said he'd do it if the production moved to Detroit but it wouldn't. Hard not to respect that honestly, unless wherever they did film needed capital injection even more I suppose
I remember liking it in theatre, the opening shot of earth with all the desertification made me audibly gasp in theatre. It was a rough but honest look at a possible future.
Wasn't horrible, but I've never felt the urge to rewatch it. light pole/10
Jokes aside, i actually don't remember much about the movie since the last time i watched it was when it fucking came out in theaters, what i DO remember is some pretty fucken cool concepts that in any other media would be defined as too on the nose or something, like all rich people living in a fucking ring in space while earth becomes a wasteland of factory workers and slums
William Fichtner plays a rich arsehole with gold plated combat robot bodyguards too which seems like some Elon Musk bazinga shit (although obviously these robots are actually real lmao)
Did this just hit a streaming service or are you posting on /tv/ about it too?
