In the latest Nintendo Direct Chris Pratt claims he "spent hours of his life stomping, Koopas, in the original Mario Brothers arcade game", but you can not "stomp" a turtle in that game, all plumber-on-turt violence in that game is in the form of Mario flipping them by hitting the floor they are walking on from below and then running up to them to kick them. From this we can only conclude that Chris Pratt is a liar who has never crushed a single turtle with his feet, and is thus unfit to play Mario Mario in the movie. I urge you to call your congressman, we can still sonic this movie.

    ‘hours stomping koompas’

dude almost every person has played fucking mario regardless of demographic, how is it this hard to lie about playing mario?

This is the most appropriate actor you could have cast for an animated film?

Can't he just say "Hey everyone loves the Mario characters, but I didn't play much Nintendo growing up because I was too busy crushing ass."?

tbh his cadence in speaking every time he talks about his love for mario, its really clear he has no fucking idea who mario is

Hey hexbear devs, can we get a new version of the A*ber bot that replies "It'sa me, Mario! :mario: " every time Chris Pratt is mentioned in a post?

There’s an arcade port of the original NES Mario bros in which you do, in fact, stomp koopas.

Aha, but Mr. Pratt specifically said "in the original Mario Brothers arcade game", you wouldn't call the NES port original

Ah contraire, I would indeed, but only because I’m ok with intentionally being wrong to make a point.

Uhhh, comrade you're wrong. You definitely also can jump on them.

I will not stand for this.

IDK, looking through this video, the player seems to be jumping over them turts a lot, but never jumps on them.

lmao that top comment turning into an atheism debate. Even five years ago that would have seemed a bit quaint.

But I think they introduced jumping on the koopas in the NES game, and then subsequent remakes of the original arcade game included it as a feature because it would have been awkward for players to take it away.

You can also stomp on koopas to pop them out of their shell then kick the shell across the map.
