    I adore Allston. One of the best neighborhoods imo (also on the cheaper end, probably even moreso now I assume especially with colleges being mostly online now, since it's a big student neighborhood.) - it still has character. JP and Dorchester are also pretty good, Somerville is also okay but it's getting expensive and gentrifying pretty rapidly

        I mean probably not atm considering the pandemic. I'm not sure where they would've played but one of the best venue for local bands in the neighborhood just closed for good so it's hard to say

      Appreciate the advice. It's always tough to get a feel for various neighborhoods before you actually live there.

      I haven't lived in Boston for a few years but I thought JP was getting pretty gentrified?

        Yeah I'd believe that, I haven't been there in years at this point. That's pretty standard for everywhere in Boston sadly. JP suffers from semi-reliable transportation so it makes sense that it's happening there.
