Nerds seem to differentiate republican dude bro chuds from Bible thumping chuds for some reason.
Because of this differentiation they can "otherify" the bible thumpers while keeping the dude bros close to heart.
At the same time the "dude bro chud" mentality has not attempted to threaten their precious treats and entertainment like the WOKE LIBERAL MEDIA/POLITICIANS have.
Thats my theory at least.

Nerds got coopted into chuddom around the time of the "internet atheist" times of the early aughts. So when the "new atheists" youtubers went hard right wing, they brought along the atheist/free thinker nerds they had attracted into their orbit.

And then Richard Dawkins himself showed up in the comments and accused Skepchick of overreacting and compared her experience to those of women being forced to wear burkas or undergo genital mutilation.
Nerds, like everyone else, don't like being told what to do. Because they have the maturity of children, they associate liberal values with shushy teachers and mom telling them not to point at unusual looking people. Back in the 90s-00s, there was a dichotomy of how batshit the "satanic panic" :meemaw: type were and how annoying the sjw :maybe-later-kiddo: type were, whereas gamers just wanted :grillman: , we're currently at the next stage of that I guess. Feels like the inherent conservatism of the nerd class and the failures of libs to reach them is a recurring problem

It's not just gamers. I see this on some leftist spaces that say some variation of "At least chuds are honest while Liberals lie to your face." Chuds lie just as much and are a lot more smug about it. Shapiro, Crowder, and Matt Walsh are a few of the many everyday chuds that push their hate while feeling superior to everyone else for it.
