explaining that was one of the reasons he was selling the company to Microsoft.
we're really closing in on the "there will be 3 corporations that own everything" point
Who is the person with the mind controll fetish who keeps adding it to the games?
I forgot how much that place sucked. You are right. I an 0% hype for this game. I knew a guy that worked in security there. There was apparently some kinda problem with people bringing swords to work and being a threat to staff
I right-clicked the WP link as "Save Link As", then opened and read the HTM file
Diablo III was the last game I paid for on release. After that I swore never again to buy a day-1 release title. It was my personal demarcation line between when games were released and worked and stood by themselves, and the current AAA market of releasing day-1 broken shit that's just a skinner box to make you buy DLC. I have exactly 0 hope for Diablo IV to turn out well.
Damn, as someone who read the Sin War series this is really disappointing. I was pretty excited to see these very important characters of the founding of Sanctuary in game finally, especially because of their relationship to the High Heavens and Burning Hells, but I can't say I'm surprised to hear its such a disaster. Captialism ruins fucking everything man, all they have to do is treat the devs like people and like 70-80% of the problems just vanish.
"Blizzard quality" hasn't really been a thing since what, Overwatch I guess? They've been bleeding talent for a long time. D3 took them another year or two of updates to not be a total shit show.
I think post WotLK was when they really started to go downhill, which was also when the Activision merger happened.
Diablo 3 just didn’t do it for me. If you were there for the original Diablo, the atmosphere made the first boss fight (the butcher) really scary because you didn’t know what was going to happen. In 3 they introduced the butcher like a pro wrestler or something, incredibly low energy. I didn’t even know there was going to be a 4.
I got it on sale a few years after release and played it for a couple months? PoE has been the best arpg for like the past decade.
PoE is a great game but if you haven't played it try Grim Dawn, it takes definitely takes my top arpg slot.
This gaming dev released like six good games in the 90s/early 00s (Lost Vikings, WC2, WC3, D1, D2, SC1) and has been coasting on good will ever since. Two fucking decades later and people still think they'll be "good" again. The only reason D2R is good is because it's just a remake of one of their good games. It's kinda hard to fuck up a remake, which they still managed to do with the WC3 remake. So, they're 1 for 2 in remaking their classics. If they're like 50% of merely remastering a classic, how do you expect them to churn out a good new game?
So, they’re 1 for 2 in remaking their classics.
they remastered SC:BW, but I never hear anything about it
Damn, I completely forgot about the BW remake. They mostly just redid the graphics, added an APM counter, and made other QoL changes. D2R and WC3R both had gameplay changes as well as graphics updates.
weird that I never hear about it. Is the remaining SC1 player-base much smaller than remaining WC3 player-base?
The remake was done mostly for the esports scene, who do not want the gameplay to change. Besides the APM counter, I think the Starcraft remake also has native spectator mode. It didn't really add a whole lot if you just played the campaign. They didn't manage to fuck it up like they did with WC3, and they haven't made changes to the gameplay like they're doing with D2R, so that's probably why it flew below most people's radar. All the patch notes from the remake onwards are just bug fixes. Meanwhile, D2R has already introduced new runewords and added new endgame content called terror zones.
I can't understand anyone giving a shit about Blizzard in the current year.
yeah but their games are junk and not worth even keeping on my radar
