My daughter wanted a set of Hot Wheels. Even though she's very femme in personality, she's not (for lack of a better term) a typical girl - in that she likes science stuff. She has no issue playing with typically boy targeted things, either. I encourage all this. Anyhow - So she wanted a Hot Wheels set which was in the budget (wife and I do ok - not great, but ok).
She lit up like a cop when the fresh donut sign comes on at Krispy Kreme when she opened it up.
Her smile is literally all I need.
I don't know why but it makes me happy kids are still playing with toy cars. I don't even like real cars, but there is something about making a giant loop-de-loop that is so satisfying.
Our two year old has the perfect age for getting gifts. He jumped around the living room last night shouting "Thank you for the gifts!" at us and his grandparents and tried to cut down the Christmas tree with the toy chainsaw he got.
My partner got me this huge book that's just tons of excerpts from books, speeches, songs, and poetry from various left wing dissenters from 1800 bce to 2008. We just flipped through it together to see how many we recognise.
Also her mom knitted me a pair of socks that have the nonbinary flag on them, which is a big deal cause her mom is lowkey a bit transphobic.
Alcohol and sugar in my bloodstream amongst family (enjoy your xmas presents)
*not even being sarcastic i personally look forwards to this aspect of xmas lmao

My wife got me new underwear. No lace or frills, don't volcel police me. First new ones I've had in probably 10 years. Makes a difference.
Such an essential gift. This and new socks are my favorite gifts my girlfriend gives me.
I have a decent few pairs of underwear kicking around that date back to the Bush Administration. The absolute tattiest ones might have a bit of elastic peeping through, but no holes and nothing that impacts comfort or causes accelerating deterioration. Not the ones I wear if I'm trying to impress, but they're still comfy so no reason to replace them.
More nerd-ass cookbooks. Some really fun stuff in these, but I can't afford ingredients anymore so it may be awhile before I can use them.
OooOOOooo I never get cookbooks from anyone even though it's no secret I love to cook. What things are you excited to try out?
Ninja Turtles Pizza Cookbook (absolutely wild) has some crazy shit that might be good and might be awful like Mac and Cheese Pizza, Smores Pizza, and an Omelet Pizza. Also surprisingly enough a vegan tofu pizza which is nice as I'm slowly weening myself off dairy. Elder Scrolls cookbook has a lot of different breads. Bread is my favorite thing to bake and there is a lot to try here. This book also has teas, which is nice because the majority of this game/cartoon/etc inspired cookbooks that have beverages are usually 99% alcohol.

Say this in the rhythm of the song
Finally got some machine girl drip :dancing-roach:
And I also got a full on fucking ipad for a drawing tablet lol
And apparently Studebaker makes boomboxes now
A 10 hour shift is today's Christmas gift.
A bag of tasty goodies, a few bottles of hand-made cider, and a pair of the best apples I've ever had in my life from my trip down to the west coast.
Work boots. Mine got all ratty pretty quick because they were cheap. My partner got me a nice pair that should last a lot longer, and they’re union made too.
Chippewas are great, lot of my coworkers wear them and I tried on some of them when I was looking. Did you ever have to maintain them or do anything to them?
My parents got the fantastic beasts move for me and my sisters because we were into harry potter as kids. I really don't want to tell them that not only is the movie terrible, but I can't stand harry potter now.
They also gave me a big voucher for a plane company so I can go on holidays this year, so I'm really grateful for that
My ex and I got drunk/high and hate-watched the fantastic beasts movies and it was a great time
