Being terminally online is always detrimental to one's mental health, but nothing rots a human brain more reliably than transphobia.

It's weird because there's background radiation transphobia everywhere, you'd think it wouldn't turn brains to soup like it does, but it's the most potent way to make someone go absolutely insane from posting.

Residual transphobia rests on a lot of untested, false assumptions about "basic biology". It works because people do not question things like "there's a flawless, always immediately recognizable binary biological distinction between men and women - you can just look at somebody and instantly know what's in their pants and therefore what their true gender is." When you engage with the trans issue, you either realize that things aren't even nearly as clear cut as that and start questioning at least some internalized transphobia - or you fly fully off the handle once you get to the point were you "clock" cis women all the time.

When i was questioning, i had a phase that was actually really similar to this - i constantly saw women that made me think "hey, she could be trans". Unlike OP, i just knew she most likely wasn't trans and that actually helped me accept myself, especially once i talked to other trans women who were convinced they did not pass at all, but in fact did pass really well as long as you don't define passing as "looks like a 20 year old supermodel."

But this guy here, he can't make that step towards acceptance, as he's already committed to the other side of the trans debate and can't admit he was wrong on the internet.

There's a clear link with misogyny and ultimately racial supremacy at the core/end result of that kind of transphobia. Making up reasons why which individuals don't have the correct phisique to be worthy of existence and why certain group should be on top of the hierararchy.

Of course racial supremacy, misogyny and this transphobia all feed from the same source: :stupidpol:

That's fair, but you look at racism and how people can deny the intelligence and humanity of people living ordinary, even identical lives to their own, and can still function pretty well. Why does transpjobe consume people so thoroughly?

The whole transphobic thing of clocking actresses (who are usually required by their profession to be as femininly beautiful as possible) as trans because of perceived masculine traits makes you realize just how much peoples perception of 'what a woman looks like' has been warped by advertising, media and the social pressure on women to meet impossible standards.

:wojak-nooo: "Impossible, real women have absolutely no hair besides upper head"

Is there a specific english word for the thin hair covering everything different from hair?

In spanish we have "cabello" for the thick hair in the upper head, "pelo" for the thick hair everywhere else (beard, chest, crotch, etc), and "vello" for the very thin hair covering the rest, usually absent in places of high friction.

G*mers used to have this weird debate about a woman with peach fuzz on her cheeks in some artwork and my first thought was "well if you don't want that, you need to find a woman who's spent a couple years undergoing hair electrolysis. Which will most likely be a trans woman."

Is Michelle Obama the first celeb to targetted by the Transvestigation weirdos? I know that for a long while the conservative media fringes were obsessed over her arms and legs, since they supposedly showed that she had been AMAB, but I never fully understood exactly how a poorly framed picture of a bicep was supposed to clue me in on the first lady's genitalia.
