You just can't. There's too many of them. And they keep making more of them! When will the suffering end?
They should stop making games for at least a year so I can catch up.
"I can't finish all the video games I want to!"
"How about you stop playing the same 4X games, farm simulators and competitive games all of which have no progression?"
How about you stop playing the same 4X games
I've been playing Civ 4 since I was 10 years old and they still haven't made a better 4X game since
I used to think this, then I tried playing the original Master Of Orion, and became even more
Beware the pipeline (modding a sandbox game and playing it 40 hours a week for two months before switching to the next one)
I dont even play games anymore. I'm slowly turning into the joyless commie living in the overturned t34. I barely even started disco elysium
Well the only thing I can say is give Disco another spin. It's a slow burn but so rewarding
I played DE and never got past the diner because I didn’t feel like reading. After they updated it with voice acting, I still never left the diner because everyone was speaking so slow. I legitimately fell asleep multiple times lol. I don’t think it’s a bad game, but man do I hate video games
Don't underestimate the ability of a weird 5/10 badly translated PS2 game to alter your entire brain chemistry
The PS2 had a crazy localization strategy. Can you imagine Katamari getting brought to the US now?
And like 90% of the objectively good ones, I have no interest in playing.
I'd finally get through the backlog of anime I want to watch and comics I want to read
Why would you want that when you can just play the same paradox game for 2000 hours
I’m still pissed off about them updating their character creator in CK3. Had so many attractive characters’ DNA saved for future use, only for them to completely revamp the way character features are stored, so nothing from before is valid
This thought is brought to you by me slowly making progress through the original Final Fantasy 7 (it's good folks).
After that I have the entire Metal Gear series to get through. After that I might even play another recently released game! (but probably not.)
Oh wow in i think 2020 i did the same thing. Finally played FF7 and the Metal Gear Solid Series. They all hold up. I was really blown away by all of them
I got out of midgar and then just kinda stopped. The background art and music and even plot are wonderful but combat... eeeeeesh it's bad.
It might be because I've never played a Final Fantasy game before but I like the combat. I find the Materia system to be surprisingly compelling. My only complaint is that when facing an enemy that requires more care than just repeatedly Thunder => All on, I feel like an idiot, but that's probably just a skill issue.
video games and their consequences have been a disaster for the human race.
You’re not behind on video games, you just have abundant choices. While having too much choice can be stressful in itself, it doesn’t have to be. If you have games that you like playing then you’re winning, and if you never run out of games you like playing then you’re always winning.
I do sometimes wish I had the time to dig into those really intensive strategy or simulation games that require like 100+ hours to fully experience, but that’s a choice I’m making because there are other games to play and other things to do.
That's the one good thing I still like about reddit - crowd sourcing decisions. If I'm looking for new music, TV, games etc. to play, I just search the forums and look for the most often mentioned bands/shows/games in the genre I'm interested in. 90% of the time it works all the time
if i had to follow this rule i would go bankrupt on buying extra hard drives before i ran out of games to pirate
I’ve wasted so much money on trendy multiplayer games because everyone was playing it, only to realize I have no friends or no one wants to play with me lol
I'll play em all just watch me
Don't make me do it I'll play every video game
