Hasan reads a chat comment: I'm almost positive the subreddit getting banned is directly tied to the chapo sub count increasing while the amount of drama decreased.
Hasan says: Uhhh maybe??
Felix says: I kinda think so. Yeah. I do kinda think that.
Hasan says: Reddit fandoms of podcasts can become really chaotic and awful.
The only reason the chapo hosts were so against the sub was that it didn't blindly worship every single thing they said on the pod or posted on twitter lol
Sorry that we called you out for such epic takes as "uhh ackshully cops are proles", dipshits :picard:
Oh I thought it’s bc I asked will why he was always horny on main in the AMA
It was like the 5th episode or something when the sub started and Will was real excited there was a sub for the pod lol, I wonder when they started hating it and what precipitated it. He posted there a couple times just to yell at us lol.
I remember how indignant Will was towards his own listeners that some don't know who Kevin Garnett is or were a little annoyed they chose to devote a full episode to some mediocre NYC-centric movie right during the absolute zenith of the Dem primaries.
There was also that episode where they had that dunce taibbi on to cry about cancel culture or whatever while the BLM summer protests were happening in 2020, iirc. That was right after the sub was banned.
:100-com:
Also I always hated how the hosts treated their listeners like shit.
No, it's because redditors are annoying. Not super deep.
The :bunny-cop: thread pops into my head every now and then and it never fails to brighten my day
I can't think of Zootopia without thinking of that post. Another real deep cut I remember was Tampa Grandpa.
Anyone remember the brief wave of chuds who would come in and send us their actual nudes when we said "post hog?" :jesus-christ:
I swear we straight up MKultra'ed the chuds of reddit, we went full booeyman
I miss the subreddits megathreads. I loved reading through the slop of houndands of dirtbags
Hasen't the podcast become worse and worse after the 2020 primaries? I haven't listened to it for years
I still like it, but it definitely doesn't have the punch it used to. I think that's because Biden is president, though - Chapo was the perfect listening for the Trump era, and maybe it will be again come 2024.
it dipped in quality for a bit but it's picked back up recently
Felix also said that the podcast now has more subs than ever before, with over 40000 subs.
It does? Well blow me down. I had no idea. It doesn't appeal to me anymore tbh but maybe I'm a minority.
But then again I don't think subs are an indicator of quality.
Becoming more and more lib (being subsumed into the dominant ideology) leads to a wider audience??
:shocked-pikachu:
It was way more lib during the Bernie campaign not only because they thought he could win but also that it would matter if he did
I suppose you’re right. It was always lib and has just continued being so.
Yeah I was always told the pod has dipped in quality and lost listeners
I only listen occasionally for free on YouTube but in my experience they're alright as long as they're talking about movies or dunking on someone who really deserves it
Also when they have :brace-watching: on as a guest
you can always listen to every episode if you go to r/blackwolffeed on reddit
it did lose listeners, they are only now beating their old records from two years ago
It's funny because while I've never had a :reddit-logo: account, I was accused of being a part of r/chapotraphouse long before I came here and learned that I was still a lib who needed to learn
I think that's how I found it too, someone said "go back to chapotraphouse" and I was like "where?"
We really should thank those neolibs one of these days, I may have never have discovered my love of Juche if it weren't for them
I was a member of the sub:reddit-logo: for months before someone told me there was a podcast.
The pod sucks.
Lmao same. I didn't even know about the podcast after being on the sub for a couple months.
I thought that chapo was a far left seinfeld fan sub right up until it got banned and I found out it wasnt
I just joined the sub, saw the top three memes were all about Seinfeld, and left because I hadn’t watched Seinfeld
Leftists love doing anti-communist propaganda.
I throw a fit whenever I see a so-called "Marxist" wearing anything other than a barrel held up by suspenders.
Not sure what you're referring to and I dunno about Felix, but Hasans been pretty solid overall in his popculture commentary.
Sure his AES takes aren't perfect, but way more charitable than others in his domain with his size. And I've seen tons of users in ML spaces saying that he was their entry to leftism..
I was defending you. Saying that people getting mad that some socialists have money is effectively doing the "socialism wants to make everyone poor" propaganda.
sorry I was confused. now I know what you were referring to 😅
Terminally online Twitch streamers talking to their terminally online audience are truly the hotbed of revolution
You see, if he's entertaining manchildren from there he's a based worker who owns their means of production
:stuff: I am commiting tax fraud and writing off the entirety of my manor as a work expense
The sub getting banned literally caused the popularity of chapo to stagnant for two years lmao Felix should stop fronting and become a twitch streamer already
Tfw your podcast daddy doesnt like you anymore buts its fine because you never liked them anyway
The clip is from Tuesday this week. Longer clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVp2Pi-VgWg
spoiler
The first 3 minutes is boring stuff about tiktok.
At 3 minutes Felix talks about chapo turning down ad deals.
At 4 minutes, Felix addresses a commentor that says nobody listens to chapo, he said chapo has their peak sub count with 40k subs.
Felix then talks quite a bit about the blackwolffeed, chapo premium piracy subreddit.
At 8 minutes, Felix makes fun of redscarepod fans.
At 8:40, Felix talks about the chapo subreddit
From 9 minutes until the end, he promotes blackwolffeed, the chapo premium piracy subreddit. He says he doesn't care if people pirate the Thursday episode. He says that blackwolffeed is the biggest discussion of chapo on the internet and that he doesn't want to get rid of it.
having the same 10 people post a hundred comments each week isn’t that great.
Why are you being so mean to Hexbear?
He then immediately says that tolerance of piracy doesn't extend to "big projects" like the new show about the 30 years' war, so :shrug-outta-hecks:
like the new show about the 30 years’ war
Now I'll have to deal with people named pisspig or whatever having very harsh stances on this because they listened to someone ramble about it after reading a single book on the subject. Goddamn it.
It isn't like their takes are going to be any worse than the current "history nerds" that do them, but I've been able to filter them out.

Lmao, this pretty much proves what I said in my other comment. r/blackwolffeed is full of the kind of people who got bullied off r/cth for defending every shitty chapo take
