Yes. Someone insists it was delivered better in the book, but it's a book, line delivery is entirely up to your imagination lol.

Okay yeah that is a much better line, and reading it I am reminded how much of a Beowulf nerd Tolkien was. If you believe Old English literature and the Icelandic Sagas people used to spend a lot of time yelling about their genealogy and bragging at each other before they got down to the murdering.

The entire confrontation between Éowyn and the Witch King has so much more time to breathe in the books. It all flows directly from the charge, to Théoden falling, to the death of the Witch King before there's finally a break in the action while Merry hears Théoden's last words.

I don't believe that at all. I can believe that people were that reactionary in 2001, but they weren't that obsessed with performativity. There wasn't anything like social media where you could proclaim your righteousness to your fellow chuds.

Like it's not impossible but I bet you a nickle they're making shit up 22 years after the fact.

It gets even better: Eowyn refers to herself as a shield maiden. That's how the vikings referred to AFAB people who went raiding with them. The norse alpha chads that nazis like to worship so much fought side by side with what we'd most likely call stone butches, sword lesbians and transmascs today, and Eowyn is a direct reference to that tradition.

:grillman: has more in common with the imaginary scary brown people in his head than he ever will with a viking or a Roman gladiator. Hell, the magnum opus of Italian cinema, La Dolce Vita, openly mocks people like :grillman: as their own worst enemy.

Where chuds always this hung up on women have to be being portrayed as bimbos in distress? I remember in the 80's and 90's dudes were gaga over tough as nails women like Ripley and Sarah Connor and Samus Aran and Lara Croft.

Uhm... Yeah, actually, I think they were. The ultra-reactionary American right has always been around, and they've always had ultra-reactionary views on gender. Remember that middle class women working at all was still hugely controversial in the 80s and politicians spent most of the 80s and 90s blaming every single thing on working mothers and single mothers. Like if you watched the news in the 90s you'd be forgiven for thinking that a clandestine army of single moms was going around sabotaging industry and shanking people under the dark of night.

CHUDs: This book written 80 years ago by a staunch Catholic monarchist with an idealized view of the bucolic country life of the English gentry has been infected by woke!

Thank fuck they have ZERO media analysis, because if they sat down and watched the Matrix, CHUDs would realize they are the bluepilled ones.

Can't wait until they turn on James Bond because despite being a wealthy, heterosexual, WASP man, he doesn't wait until marriage to fuck. No wait, the BIBLE is woke because da jooz believe in some of it too or that David is an SJW because he didn't let himself get stomped by the superior Goliath.

It’s super nefarious if you think about it

This kinda meming just signals to chuds that the existence of women is in and of itself “woke” and they need to know their place. Same goes for POC who just need to exist in a way that doesn’t make chuds think about their fragility

“Woke” is just a code word for “x historically disadvantaged group is being portrayed in a good light and it makes me mad”

It's just unscientific though. The average, ahem, female, is not built athletically enough to do this. If you watch my 40-minute video essay you will find that I have even included the first paragraph of an actual medical study of the average percentual difference in muscle mass between men and women as proof that she could not circumvent a prophecy and slay an actual witch king in the real world.

Is that from that game where they also somehow tried making the argument that it was unrealistic for the main character to not wear makeup, or am I getting it mixed up with something else? I will clearly be throwing my 40-minute video essay into a highly competitive field of awful takes either way. But I have an ace up my sleeve: For the entire length of the video I'm going to speak in a really obnoxious and whiny tone of voice!

You just cannot kill a robot dinosaur with vellus hairs on your cheek. Not in the real world. This is all just made up in the imaginations of the creators of the game. It flies in the face of logic.
