I've been listening to the A People's History of Ideas podcast a lot. I didn't know much about Mao or the Chinese revolution before, but that man's life was an action movie.
Mao had irl plot armor ngl. Went from being the weird history dude at the equivalent of a 1900s DSA meeting of 20 people to being leader of the most populous country on earth
Lenin had a real gigachad moment himself when he waited out a storm with one of the Cossacks who was hunting him and didn't recognize him

The past few years have significantly lowered my opinion of humanity in general and Americans in particular, but I've found that everyone here is very nice and kind, and willing to forgive mistakes, and incredibly supportive of any problem anyone cares to bring to this place. Everyone here is good people.
This is why everyone in politics is like 500 years old. If everyone was :caught-in-4che: then people would fall in love and either be manipulated into supporting the enemy's interests, or just make the world peaceful so they can have sex with each other without worrying about nukes
