I highly doubt it. Like maybe some fringe cases, but if you are a person who self identifies as a republican you are more far gone than some blue Maga fuck; like the blue maga fucks generally dont want to commit genocide, they just dont care if it happens or is a cost of doing business. Proud republicns now are actively eager for throwing people in camps as their fondest hearts desire. Like maybe some of the people who happen to vote republican for one reason or another, but if it is self identification that ship has sailed.
There are no self identified republican isolationists. That's all just political posturing because their guy isn't currently in office. The second their special boi is back they will be gung-ho about killing anyone and everyone. Don't let yourself be deluded by the awe shucks affectation, I spent 5 years working with these fucks on job sites all over the place and they are more rabidly blood thirsty than any blue Maga dipshit. And before you ask I am not talking about your bog standard construction guy, I am talking about the foremen and tradesmen who listened to rush reruns in their truck while their guys did all the work. Most of your laborers were pretty non political and usually atleast decent, occasionally a good old school union guy.

This is something that so many people, including some people on this website, continuously fail to consider. The vast majority of people who are actually reachable are politically apathetic and the slim minority are members of a third party. As soon as someone self-identifies as a member of the two parties, they're an op.
Not an op, but generally unreachable. And the self identification is important, because tons of people vote for R and D but have very little attachment to either, these people are very reachable; hell i vote for democrats and i hate the democratic party, but atleast they arent calling for my extermination. If someone has invested enough psychic energy, or directly benefits materially from, self conscious identification with one of the parties the only way to really get to them is if they have some kind of crisis or break that leaves them open to propaganda.
I'll take your word for it, but I have never met a republican who is actually an isolationist. Trump didn't start direct wars, but that's not because his hogs wouldn't like it, but luck and him being lazy, let's also not understate the significant increase in murders via drone he caused even over Obama who was a fucking drone psycho. Basically every hog I have ever met who has said that they "didn't want foreign entanglements" held that view only so long as it was politically convenient. The second an appropriate authority figure gave them permission to go they were completely gung ho about killing. Like I am not claiming the dems are better, as I said they don't mind a good genocide, it's just the cost of doing business for them not the main course. Basically anyone who self identifies with either of the political parties is committed to empire.
I've seen self identified republicans who previously celebrated some the grimmest of republican fantasies switch and abandon those positions over the past few years. It's not impossible. You could be right that they're fringe cases - a lot of people build up a perception of reality, built on reinforced hate, that is pretty fucking robust -- but as idealistic as this sounds, we have the actual legitimate truth on our side, and I've seen it change people once it finds a weakspot through their acidic reality bubble.
I think we are largely in agreement, i mostly said anything because i have noticed a trend to romanticize Republicans as more open to oersuasion, mostly i think out of a sense if anger at liberals; not claiming you are doing this, I don5 know I just happens to find the need to say so etching and you were the person that I did it too. Relayed to my response ro assorted biscuits, and you last sentence, the real thing to get self identified people to shift isn't their a priori ideology but a material and ostchic crisis that leaves them open to propaganda whole they reevaluate their world. I would also like to point out that in my personal life I have seen a marked slide to the left among left libs in the past 10 years. Like they aren't leftists now, but deteriorating material conditions has left them unsure and angry, especially at the pandemic response and the seeming failure, especially on the part of the Democrat response to, the blm protests. On the flip side most conservatives i know have doubled down on either its the immigrants, in its more mild form, or the jews/trangenders(glad to be lumped in with my Jewish comrades) in its more virulent. This is just my personal experience, and to reiterate in another form my 'self-identification' point I have also noted a sharper clinging of older more affluent libs to the democratic party and vicious hostility to any left challenge, though this is, not surprisingly, a generational thing that matches with generational wealth disparities.
