Conservatives: "Bullying is a human right! Kill! Kill! Kill!"

Also conservatives: "What do you mean, my god is evil?"

I think I owe reddit atheists an apology.

Reddit atheism is just an excuse for white Americans to hate Muslims while their government shoots them all dead abroad. Being anti-radical Christianity is just a natural defense mechanism when they're constantly terrorizing you.

Liberals won’t give Cuba an ounce of credit for confronting its homophobic history and formally including people of all identities and orientation into their society via the constitution, but they’ll look at these “debates” in the US and tell to you :vote: harder next time

Zooey Zephyr (trans state rep in Montana) recently did an AMA that was pretty cool.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/10x4qbz/i_am_rep_zooey_zephyr_representative_for_montanas

Her position sounds insane to have to try and politely stand up to these pieces of shit. What really made me feel sick was a comment she made about how all these people act so cordial in passing to her outside of the chambers but then go on to act with such depravity.

No one--not a single person--has misgendered me to my face. I know there are conversations behind the scenes from far-right folks--I sometimes overhear bits of those conversations, and sometimes dems or moderate Rs apologize for what folks say. But again, no one has ever been openly cruel to me personally. There's decorum rules here, and people abide by them.

Also, there are some republican women who do not support trans rights, who actively vote against trans rights, and yet nonetheless have long, wonderful conversations with me in the women's restroom, actively gender me correctly, and never raise an issue about me as a person.

That said, respect isn't just about how they treat me individually as a trans person. It's also about what they say on the record about my community, the bills they bring forward, and the votes they take on trans issues. And it's important to remember that individual kindness to me does not equal respect for me and my community.

These people are fucking monsters and deserve the hell they try to make for all of us

When conservatives can't govern they scapegoat and punch down.

I have dreamed about the USA getting put on trial by a higher being a la Q in the Star Trek TNG premier. Go ahead and let someone like Obama try and give a defense of this evil country, only to see him get embarrassed by a vigorous prosecution.

I'm pretty surprised that deadnaming isn't already protected speech everywhere in the US honestly

Schools are legally required to follow Title IX if they receive any federal funding (99% do), which should cover protecting children from hate speech. It's not that children will get in trouble for saying hate speech, it's that the institution will get in trouble if it allows hate speech. At least I think it's title IX.

I always hate when they try the "Oh i'm actually helping trans people by deadnaming them. You wouldn't give an addict drugs, would you?" shit. Same sort of "Roll in to be a dick then vehemently insist you're in the right for doing so" shit I heard all the time I heard from people who made fun of me about my weight as a kid.

The only winning strategy for the culture war is to call transphobes "gender vegans" isn't it?

"You want me to stop doing that you disagree with? You're just like those self-righteous vegans!"

This is also their argument against Universal Medicare.

No governing strategy, so scapegoating and punching down is a lot easier.

Makes sense. Fascism is incapable of actually solving problems, so all it can really do is make an ever-expanding list of minorities to kill.

I think it's going to be one of the big election cycle culture war issues unfortunately. It's like 90% of what the right-wing psychos like libs of tik tok, Jordan Peterson, Matt Walsh, etc post about now. They have people convinced that liberals are giving toddlers gender reassignment surgery.

In Montana anyone with a few million can become a Republican congress critter.

Some of their districts are 85% GOP.

Spent a few minutes typing and deleting a dumb joke about bullying Montana state officials
I don't think I have it in me to be funny about it
This is going to result in the abuse and death of vulnerable young people who should have been given so much better.
The authors of this bill deserve to die. This is so breathtakingly cruel.
