Pathetic. It was a systemic policy and several children were injured as a result.

Every fine on businesses and every hand out for workers should be based on their COLA-adjusted original value

Everyone who runs this company is a rabid dog and should be shot in the street like one.

That’ll teach em!! Wait, why are you making the same children listed in the lawsuit put on slaughterhouse raincoats again? We just punished you!!!

Ohhhhh A FINE! That ought to change things for good!

No one goes to jail. Every executive keeps their job.

If any one of us plebs were caught doing the same we'd be imprsoned or at the very least banned from owning a buisness or fired on the spot.

The jobs involved cleaning devices like back saws and head splitters with caustic chemicals that could cause burns

Nothing says warm childhood memories quite like cleaning the head splitter with caustic chemicals.

Honestly this head line sounds a lot worse than what the story actually is. I thought these kids were working directly on the killing floor, which would be pretty traumatic.

But if they're just cleaning the head splitter that's not a big deal.

Oh fuck I got my factors messed up. Yeah, that's literally less than what they probably saved in wages by hitting children

yeah there's zero reason not to do this if that's the punishment lol

assuming they're getting paid minimum wage, it's pretty much the same as the salary would be. So mathematically it works out to $15 an hour salary, wages paid + fines, which is likely what you'd be paying legal workers, but that's only if you get caught.

If you don't get caught then congrats you found a new source of minimum wage workers. That's assuming they're even getting minimum.

Revenue isn't the same as profit. The article doesn't actually state how much they make a year, it could be $1.5 million for all we know

I assumed they were paying at least 1.5 million for the privilege in the first place

I really think fines need to be payed out in company shares at this point. The more you fuck up, the less of the company you own, the more nationalized it gets.

Of course that won't happen, only bad things can happen.

Don’t worry. Republicans are going to make sure it’s made legal so they don’t have to pay this paltry fine next time. I’m sure democrats will put up a hell of a fight though! :dem:
