For me, my number one is probably BioShock. The water effects already looked incredible 15 years ago, so I can only imagine how Rapture would look with 2023-onward technology.

Xbox 360 games are way too recent to get remakes

Don't disturb me, I'm trying very hard to not acknowledge time's passage :blob-no-thoughts:

I didn't think anybody else remembered nor pined for that old miracle of a game. Absolutely brilliant.

Old flash games. Of course many of them probably wouldn't translate well compared to even modern indie titles, but there are plenty of solid concepts. 3 that I would be grateful for would be:

Amorphus+ (Dude with a machete killing increasingly dangerous blobs. Simple as)

Slime Volleyball (and other slime games) - I just love simple sports games. Also Miniclip's Ping Pong Tournament (a simple mouse only ping pong game with shockingly good physics and 16 unique opponents). In both cases its just you against a bastard cheating computer.

Need for Madness - A racing game where you can either win by finishing all your laps or just fucking destroying every other car in the race with head on collisions. This dev also made a rudimentary fighter pilot game (radical aces) that was loads of fun.

The Achievement Unlocked Series - Honestly you could just give this remake the scale of a full-sized console title and I would find the time to 100% it. Fuck yeah I love this sort of slop

Amorphous+ was great, totally could be a full modern game.

Also that one where you're a dolphin and you try to yeet yourself into space.

Good news is that one was announced. Bad news is that it seems to be in development hell.

Is it too :grillman: to say ocarina of time? I’m talking full on remake, so solving the dungeons would be totally different, they could put far more side content in, make an open world that is full of detail to discover, awesome new recordings of the iconic music…. I would play the shit out of that.

I'm begging for them to re-do Majora's Mask in whatever timeline we're up to after Tears of the Kingdom

They even have an explanation in-canon to do it: Hyrule is too fucked, the blood moons are just Majora building power which causes monster outbreaks as far away as Hyrule, and the sky based bullshit in Tears can just whisk Link away to Termina at the end of the game or something.

Give me the three day apocalypse cycle again you fucking cowards

Make it a duology with Twilight Princess where they revamp the combat to require you to learn all the special moves and use all the items.

Make it a trilogy with Skyward Sword where they throw out 90% of that game and try again from scratch.

I understand people don't like skyward sword, but I really think it has some of the most creative dungeons in the series. The time travel mines are so good. and the sword fight with a skeleton pirate captain is :stalin-feels-good: . The game is dragged down by other stuff but it's really not as bad as people say it is imo.

I'm not a fan of Skyward Sword but there are things about it that even I have to admit are great, like the giant dumb birds and Groose.

          Just... Groose.

I still have his theme song in my head

Tfw Epic used Unreal Tournament as just a tech demo for the newest engine and to launch their game store, then immediately discontinued it :agony-shivering:

I got called so many slurs for abusing the hijack mechanic in Mechassault 2.

Side note: bring back multiplayer modes where individual matches are part of a campaign. That was lit.

F Zero GX. Keep all of the mechanics exactly the same, throw in all of the AX content and a track editor to complement the machine editor and you can dethrone Mario Kart 8+ as the best racer out right now.

      Nintendo: "We refuse to make another F-Zero because we can't think of a way to I N N O V A T E with it."

Also Nintendo: "New Zelda games almost yearly that reset or sidetrack the timeline forever and ever."

In my head, where it's nice and safe, there is a game called F-Zero Switch, which added Samus, Fox McCloud, and the guy from Redline as "guest racers"

That shit needs a revamp badly. Never played a round that didn't tie unless one side was impaired or under the age of four.

    Metroid Prime 2: Echoes

It was absolutely held back by the limitations of the Gamecube and nothing has really came close to replicating it. Can't imagine how much better it would be if you didn't have to wait on the damn loading screens everytime you switch between the Light or Dark world.

The game that I've played that came closest to it oddly enough was the Titanfall 2 single player campaign but it was way too linear to fully take advantage of the concept.

I wouldn't be surprised if it and 3 get a similar treatment as Prime 1 leading up to Prime 4's release.

Well, it's Nintendo, so not releasing games that people want to play is always an option. :yea:

Try Helldivers if you haven't yet. It's a twin-stick shooter by the same people. Instead of a story campaign you progress through semi-random campaign maps to reach the enemy homeworld and blow it up in the name of Space America and Managed Democracy. It's a spoof on American fascism in the spirit of Starship Troopers. The shooting is pretty tight, there's a ton of weapons and equipment, and each player gets to choose a set of "Spells" that you call in Magicka style - airstrikes, mechs, special equipment. It's a lot of fun and, like magicka, blowing up your friends and then casting the rez spell is a big part of it. Higher difficulties are extremely frantic as you struggle to deal with hordes of enemies and your weapons get so powerful they're almost as dangerous to you as the badguys.

Oh I have and it's great, it just doesn't scratch the same itch. The absolute-freeform magic and the ways elements interact are so good.
