Fash and libs united in seething over Finland getting wrecked after attempting to replicate Manifest Destiny on Karelia and Murmansk. Love to see it.

I actually can blame Finland for it's role in prolonging the holocaust by tying up soviet resourses that otherwise would have allowed a more speedy defeat of Nazi Germany.

    It's not difficult

Can also much more directly blame Finland for being complicit in the Siege of Leningrad, which killed over 1.5 million people, many of whom were civilians starved to death.

:rage-cry: "b-b-buh but the finnish troops didnt actually attack Leningrad, so you cant blame them for it! they just stood there with their guns pointed at the russkies, doing nothing!! we are blameless!!"*

*actual argument i heard when i said that finland participated in the siege

i personally love how the finns dug in for years building fortifications and they got folded back to the old border in two weeks :data-laughing:

of course the cope is that the advance was finally stopped at the border, rather than the advance losing momentum, and they probably could've marched all the way to the sea with the next attack :edgeworth-shrug:

Recently I learned Sweden was a major supplier of iron to the Nazis. :ancap-good:

The entire saga of the World Wars was Europeans looking to kill one another while crying "Self Defense".

It's all bullshit, of course. The same folks defending Finnish Nazis will turn around and condemn the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact. They'll lionize Churchill for surviving Operation Sealion while condemning FDR for attending Yalta. They'll cheer the bombing of Japan while bemoaning condemning Soviets as war criminals in Europe.

It's all just team sports to a bunch of spectators.

Been flaring up since the Ukraine invasion and the Finnish PM having the audacity to condemn "historical Russian aggression".

But wait, I thought Finland won the Winter War when the Ghost of Helsinki 360 no scoped Stalin's big spoon. Why would the winners of a war be angry about lost territory?

Say any of this to Finns and they immediately dismiss you as Russian propaganda.

Stalin did make one mistake, it was not going all the way to Helsinki to finish the job of defeating fascism (then to Amsterdam, Paris, London, Madrid, DC, ect, after that)

Derscheisser. Meme sub equivalent of ShitWehraboosSay, the sub which is what it says on the tin. Mostly full of shitlibs, and shitlibs radicalized into comrades (ahem), who will cry foul at “tankies” (people who say good things about the USSR beyond killing Nazis) but will unironically stan Churchill and Arthur Harris without any self awareness whatsoever.

The one redeeming quality about those two subs is trashing the constant wehraboo shit you see on Reddit, but you eventually run into takes like this.

the allies were still colonial powers and anticolonial struggles against them remained valid but that's not what finland was doing.
