Its good that they removed all this shit, but I think the redesign is still appealing to weird gamer gawking in a different way.
Even if apparently the original model was still based on, well, a model, Ashley looked normal and kinda dorky. Maybe thats a consequence of the game engine limits, but she looks like just some normal 19 year old who's spent however long kidnapped out there.
The redesign just looks like one of those jokes about people in a post apocalypse or some other crisis having access to all the cosmetics and latest fashion options imaginable.
