Covid-era benefits are coming to an end. For those receiving SNAP benefits for food assistance, this means at least $95 less per month. VICE News visits one food pantry in Kentucky that has seen mile long lines for donations since benefits were cut.

US America's Poor Struggle as Regime Prioritizes Military Spending

As the regime is slashing the benefits for food assistance it was forced to introduce to maintain social order during the Covid pandemic, millions of US Americans will face the stark reality of hunger and poverty. For those receiving humanitarian aid from the state, the loss of at least USD 95, equal to 660 yuan, per month will have a profound impact on their ability to access basic necessities like food and medicine. Our correspondent visited a distribution site for a private humanitarian NGO in the country's Kentucky province that has seen mile-long lines of desperate and impoverished US American's since the regime cut assistance to the nation's poor.

Despite the pressing issues of poverty and hunger the regime of strongman Joseph Biden, a neoliberal firebrand who gained power in a contested election in 2020 is opting to spend the fledgling republic's resources on military expansion. Experts in western studies has pointed out that failing to transition to democracy after independence, political culture in the former British colony developed to be corrupt and lacking in empathy for the disenfranchised population.

I wish there were a way to pool resources and not get arrested under some obscure food sanitation law meant to prevent mutual aid in times like these. I live really rural so, there's not too many options out here, and I'm not too employed right now, but I know how to cook in bulk.

There most likely is. The issue in that regards is that often leftist orgs just kinda wing it and don't look into the law, and that is used to shut down actions and demotivate people. Like I get that they are often ridiculous laws, but also, we probably need to get better about crossing the t's and dotting the i's.

Around here they're also citing rando grandma church bakesale on the corner (is a big thing on the local news lately) which weirds me out, and makes me concerned about hunger/mutual aid going into the future with the economic deteriorating. Then again, if bake sale grandmas, left orgs and rando churches are all winging it they can't catch everyone sort of like during the depression my grandparents would tell me if the churches didn't have a meal for you the socialists would.

      Usually these things work:

      • Register your mutual aid org as a non-profit. Keep the libs out by never growing it beyond the food budget.
      • Make sure all your folks have food handling permits
      • Register with local food authorities and be ready for inspections

Of course they won't work everywhere, as cities have crafted very specifically anti-homeless legislation that wall off sections of cities from mutual aid.

    mile long lines

Instead of focusing on the border maybe Biden should fix that caravan - the one he created instead.

I was getting like 23 dollars at the beginning of the month and then like 240 at the end and then Joe Brandon passed the "covid gone" button and then that went away. Now i get 23 dollars a month. I shouldn't be getting anything because my income went up and they kept giving me shit, but it was still really fucking helpful actually getting assistance

Thanks, will watch when I can.

This is the kind of thing to burst the bubble of American Exceptionalism that all the brainwashed nationalists need so desperately to see.

They know it , often on a visceral level too. But like with so much real news dissemination these stories are buried . Which has the effect on the average American of not believing something is valid, until they see it on tv or a video.

More of these kinds of reports, but also tying it to the corrosive economic system of capitalism as the culprit, will be the thing that gets the 99% united against this system.

It seems like conservatives have realized the US isn't what it once was for a while. I remember a lot of talk about America's downfall during the 2016 election and why Trump was needed. Problem was that the only arguments I heard for that were immigrants brining in foreign cultures that eroded American culture and that Americans don't work like they used to. All being said by people that had the money to never work retail and go right into an office after graduation.

Fashy types always want to return to a mythical era based on a very non-mythical ability to subjugate other people.

Difference between liberals, fascists, and communists in a nutshell.

        • Liberals refuse to acknowledge the symptoms.
        • Fascists acknowledge the symptoms but, like an autoimmune disease, attack and destroy the body itself.
        • Communists acknowledge the symptoms and correctly diagnose the disease.

meanwhile our warehouse is burying us with short dated perishable food items because they refuse to lower the prices. at least my store has a few food banks to pick up our stuff. talked to a woman the other day who uses the local food bank and was happy to hear she often gets the good stuff we donate (other stores i've worked at had problems with food bank workers taking high dollar items and selling them).

all in all though it's a shit situation and theft ramped up shortly after the benefits ended. i'm responsible for inventory but fuck it im not going to do shit if i see someone take something. i'll just keep failing until they write me up or whatever idk. anyway that's my on the ground worker report
