So stupid, they can call it whatever they want but it won't change the reality that Russia controls it, mostly Russians live there.

OMG Russia controlls the GOP! Proof Kremlin controls Trump! Litterally hyperventilating over here. Between that and these so-called "Cuban refugees" in Florida who are totally NOT COMMUNISTS proves Trump is a Big League RED. It was all a facade the entire time! We must :vote: to prevent  from tossing this "Great Experiment" down a Chinese Communist Party cliff! :maybe-later-honey: healthcare is just going to have to wait. We have to protect the Republic, and that's why it's Her time :hillgasm:

I think Saigon and HCMC are used interchangeably by people there. However whenever I encounter a Pho joint named Saigon I always wonder if the owners fled South Vietnam

There's an old historian joke that Poland isn't a country but just sort of a geographic idea

It's a country where brainworms are extremely widespread and where the alternative to far-right ideology (traditionalist Social Democracy) is far-right ideology (fuck you poor people libertarianism). I should know, I've been there last week.

There are surprising pockets of left wing thought, such as when a socdem magazine openly praising AES Poland on its cover last week, but you won't hear it from random people on the street due to tabooisation. Or maybe it's just because my relatives live in the most pro-PiS part of the country and are not devoid of brainworms themselves.

Every one I've met has been a straight up Nazi. Like the most full blown Nazism you could get away with in public a few years ago. Fuck only knows what they're like today...

according to a friend of mine who knows her apparently she shit talked me by saying i'm a hypocrite for supporting palestines right to independence but not lithuania's

We do not want Russification in Poland and that is why we have decided to change the name

My dude, Kaliningrad is not in Poland

“The current Russian name of this city is an artificial baptism unrelated to either the city or the region,” Poland’s committee on geographical standardisation said on Tuesday.

Pure gibberish. All place names are made up and the name Kaliningrad is indeed very related to the place as it is what the people actually living there calls it.

And just to round off, The Guardian gives us this nugget of wholesomeness:

Moscow says it liberated Poland when its forces drove out Nazi forces at the end of the war. Most Poles believe the Soviet Union replaced Nazi occupation with another form of repression.

Poles are the most cucked people on earth, insisting on denying the genocide the Nazis were doing on them, just because they are mad about not getting their fascist dictatorship back after WWII.

Also, why does western media have to do Nazi apologia and holidayHolocaust denial like this?

When I was there last week, it was during the Majòwka holiday combo (Labor Day-Flag Day-Constitution of the 3rd of May 1791 Day) and State media was flirting with the idea of resurrecting the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth lol.

Not in a "We're gonna annex Vilnius" way, but more in a "Please Lithuania, it's gonna be really cool", but still history has an extreme value in Polish propaganda. They couldn't shut up about it.

Interestingly, it wasn't really anti-communist, even in what criticised AES Poland. Instead, when talking about that era it was going "Russia was holding us back" and similar.

Makes sense considering the main voter base of PiS is boomers who got screwed over by the counterrevolution, who even if they don't miss socialism, probably think fondly of the economic stability they had back then.

Poles never were the cultural hegemon of kaliningrad, they were just mad that the teutonic knights beat them in conquering the local pagans.
