What will happen is trump will choose his successor earlier, and will campaign with him extensively. You'll end up with a party dictatorship, just like what your government did with Mexico and PRI

As shitty as a third Trump term would be, term limits are a fuck. They are mainly used to keep anyone vaguely to the left out of office for too long. FDR was too left for them (I know he's not actually left, but he was to them) so they enacted term limits to make sure it never happened again. Also, one of the bullshit attacks on Morales was that he was supposedly over his term limit.
George W. Bush will run as a Democrat and his series of empty platitudes and moving right in the name of bipartisanship will be labeled as the most progressive platform in the party's history. Corporate media will sing his praises 24/7 which will lead to the dnc forcing everyone else to drop out the day before the first primary. The election will be very close, and there will be controversy over hanging chads in Florida again. The Supreme Court will rule on this and give the election to Trump.
