Republicans when they realize that democracy doesn't actually work for them :surprised-pika:
He is in the sense that he'll vote for them no matter what, but not in the sense that their legislative project is attempting to cater to him.
Car dealership owners are rich as fuck - literally multi-millionaires with significant political influence. They are not "middle class" at all.
As always right wingers only notice the suffering when a bit of it trickles up and effects them directly.
At which point they just label it Communism and come up with some bullshit as to why their team is being forced to do it by sinister hidden forces. They'll come around on DeSantis (assuming they don't get in line behind Trump). But they'll never lift a finger against their local car dealerships.
DeSantis is used car saleman-coded. It shouldn't surprise anyone he's protecting local car dealers
Isn't Tesla the only company that does direct sales? I'm confused about who this would affect.
It entrenches the car dealer barons and protects their position as wealthy middlemen who largely provide no value
Honestly I was so confused when I needed to buy my first car. I assumed people still go to malls and box stores when Amazon is a thing, this must be like that. Then found out I couldn’t buy anything online. Used, new, it didn’t matter. I’m still mad about it.
Ford and Toyota have been open about direct to consumer coming in the future
