                More reading says Secure Folder might be the answer? alternatively, there is an app called Shelter that leverages the work profile in android. I've never used it, though. No clue if it is the appropriate solution.

    If someone could register a domain for WeChat to point to here that would be helpful also.

    The government of Tokelau (ccTLD is .tk) has actual free domains under several ccTLDs they control (no payment info required) to register one you could go to http://www.dot.tk/en/index.html?lang=en They are real ICANN/DNS recognized domains not subdomains. They also aren't special domains like openNICproject uses which require a change of DNS server.

    Maybe "downloadwechat.tk"?

    We also cannot forget that this cold war mentality is a virtual conflict, on both sides. Everyone is bluffing about their own power, and these bans have more to do with an ideological smokescreen hiding the republican parties allies getting rich off the bans than accurately acting based off the existing political situation.
