I live in a pretty hot state, we can keep the house in the seventies even on 100+ days just by opening the windows at night to get the cool air and closing them before sunrise.

I think there are thermostats that you can program to do this automatically too. Cab probably set sone sort or curves that way your hone warms up/cools off but at a rate where it's mostly imperceptable

there's no reason for refrigerators, or the grand majority of "smart" tech to be smart in the first place. I just want a cold box so I can store perishables, I don't need it to tell me the weather, or that my milk is nearing it's expiration date, or do literally anything other than keep roughly a cubic meter at a few degrees above freezing. I don't need my toaster to tell me sports scores goddammit

“LG will innovate with a platform-based service business model that continuously generates profits, such as content and services, subscriptions and solutions, to the hardware-oriented businesses, which generate sales and profits at the time of purchase,” the vendor adds.

Innovate doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

It's definitely a thing now that every company wants to offer subscriptions. We'll see how far they are able to go with products that never used to be subscription based.

I've been wanting to get into pottery because garden supply stores can absolutely get fucked with how much they want for terracotta pots.

I've been saying for a while that the Gamer model is coming to everything and to watch out for Live Services. People think it's weird because you know, it's just a video game. But soon it's much more.
