Even when my car was running and it had bad rust damage and the tires were shot I was insured. Imagine a 100k car not being insurable, lol. lmao

I’m guessing it’s because if your rust bucket has a claim they only have to pay out a tiny bit of money, while these pieces of shit are unreliable and expensive to repair.

30 years ago it was conservatives whining about "political correctness." Except back then at least they could pretend it was about something else. To be literally against diversity, equality and inclusion? Mask off.

I've been telling people about cybertruck owners posting about getting their insurance canceled or not renewed since friends of mine in Tampa keep seeing them. Basically, "if you see one on the road stay away because it's likely not insured".

    ---

After this winter I suspect you won't be able to insure it in the midwest and northeast.

There’s one I’ve seen a couple times in Northern Virginia, it has water spots and is already yellowing ¯\(ツ)

From what I understand the body panels are all different so they all weather at different rates. Great news to find out after learning you can't wash the thing or it will void the warranty.

Was with Geico for 20 years. 0 claims. My R8 was $1300/6 months with them. Back in February they quoted cybertruck at $3k/6 months. Finally went with progressive for $1441.

What I want to know is why you would ever sell your R8 for a cyber truck?

I hate that it bothers me, but I just can’t put myself in the mindset of these people.

      R8

I risk a struggle session here to speak so favorably about a car that probably costs ~$160,000 but I just googled that and I have to say it's a sexy beast.

That is a nice car. Why can't anybody make a car that looks exactly like that but has an electric motor in it instead of a fucking crossover or SUV? I don't care if you have to sacrifice the range because it's not perfectly aerodynamic or the battery is smaller or whatever, people would 100% buy it just for the aesthetic.

E Ray has sharper lines up front which match the side intakes and the whole F-35 aesthetic they have going on. They kinda seem out of place on the 1LT and it looks like the 1LT has a more vertical windshield which looks off to me.

Tesla insurance is the mvp if you live in CA. Cheaper than mercury for me (and Mercury is almost always the cheapest for me)

I just got a quote from Geico for a Cybertruck to add to my policy. It was about the same as to add a model s and less than a. Model x by 100 per 6 months

You can get the quote without an issue, but when it comes time finalize it, reportedly it won’t be possible. Let me know though if it works out.

Tesla fanboys and florida vacationers being the first people to get booted off of privatized property insurance might be the best way to start the era of climate disaster. The only way this would be better is if all the newly uninsured cybertrucks are in florida for a IRL meetup when a hurricane sweeps them all into the ocean.

Your car is repossessed, after which it gets bought by an eccentric collector who ensures it is always in pristine condition for the rest of time.

Geico is another one of those us company names that just baffles my Anglo brain.

Is it just the result of 8 billion corporate mergers and Geico is the soulless name that just happened to be spat out the end?

which is baffling in the usual yankee way of something sounding like it's a government program when it is in fact an absurdly conceived private entity. auto insurance for government employees based on the frankly insane hunch that a government employee is magically less likely to wreck a car.

But they have a cute gecko mascot!

I avoid ads like the plague so the first time I learned about it was in a Reddit thread. I'm American but I never felt less American my whole life. I had no idea what Geico was and why it/they had a mascot. Somebody called it the "Geico lizard" which outraged some Redditors who corrected the OP by telling them repeatedly it was a gecko. When I googled - I had a good laugh. My guess was that it was anime related or maybe something related to a band maybe? I'll never understand how passionate Americans can be about a marketing tool.

I suppose at that time the Reddit hivemind thought of geckos as lizards+ due to their special feet, one kind of gecko can vocalize, some (all?) geckos can clean their eyes with their tongue, (etc?). That was years ago but if I'm right - they still think that way.

Maybe the hivemind is aware of that to so a gecko can't be just a mere "lizard".

I had Geico insure my CT on March then this month they just increase 200$/month premium so i switched to Tesla

I know all insurance companies want to save money but i feel that a Tesla operated insurance has more incentives to save money and falsely conclude that defects and damages arent Tesla’s fault.
