Maybe the next time your neighbors smoke and do meth don’t report it because that’s a snitch move I don’t care if you don’t like the smell it’s not going to kill your gosh!

If you can smell it, youre inhaling it. Close your windows or get some drafting going.

how bad could it be at that level of dilution

I mean probably not ideal but opening the windows probably means letting in just as much car pollution

it's not just methamphetamine but also its incompletely combusted products (some of which are certainly carcinogenic) that one is inhaling when smelling these fumes

Honestly? I have no idea. Not much i reckon. But i know from having played around with it extensively once upon a time it is nothing but noxious chemicals so i cant imagine it takes exposure to much to become toxic. Six of one, half dozen of another i suppose.

Maybe based on pure class analysis, but there's nothing about smoking meth that makes you anti-capitalist, or anti-white supremacy.

I've heard it described as being like burning styrofoam but I'm not sure i've smelled meth. definitely smelled people smoking fentanyl, and that one wasn't as styrofoamy iirc

Fent is often smoked off of a sheet of aluminum foil and that can give a smell along those lines. Crack smells VERY metallic, smeth smells kinda plasric-y but less...sweet I guess

Can this smell travel through shared sewage pipes? There's occasionally a smell that comes from one of our bathrooms and we reckon it's a neighbour pouring a shitload of chemicals down the toilet. Maybe it's something else like meth I don't know. It's weird though, like polystyrene.

If the buildings vent stack is operating properly smells shouldn't be coming out of the drains, no matter how much they pour down it.

If the vent stack is clogged or insufficiently sized, air could be forced up through the traps, but you'd be smelling sewer gas too. It's a really rank smell you'd notice, so I think the polysytrene smell is probably coming in some other way.

Hmmm it's not a shared building it would be a shared street connection for a row of properties before connecting into the main sewage.

Some fetty smells dead ass identical to burning styrofoam. Other times it tastes like chlorine (which may or may not be because it’s cut with xylazine, idfk). It’s an extremely variable drug.

Meth doesn’t have an odor unless you burn it, really.

Calling the cops is for moments that you are sure the situation would be made better by someone being shot.

Yeah my bar for calling the cops is “Would this situation be improved by adding an easily frightened maniac with a gun?” which is very few situations.

I wouldn’t want their kids to lose a parent because I called the cops on their parents for smoking meth. I’m not evil. I’m a good person. I’m helping those children by not reporting it.

I really feel like this is going too far on the contrarian end.

Yes foster care and care homes are bad, but I don't think one should pretend that a child growing up in a dual meth-parent household is growing up in a safe and healthy environment.

The kid could be a lot better off with a grandparent, aunt, or uncle. The shit part is you don't know until things are in motion.

That child is not in a good position and i think pretending like they are is the "own the chuds" equivalent to burning your shoes because a gay person wore a similar pair.

We've discovered the only time you can humanely call cops: when you live next door to one and you need that issue taken care of

Cooking meth requires some knowledge of chemistry, and thousands of dollars worth of lab equipment and “ingredients.” Unless you can get your hands on some pseudoephedrine. Then you can make that shit in a fucking Gatorade bottle.

Drugs don’t kill people—it’s the stigma that kills. You can get kicked out of college, lose your job, lose your housing just because you happen to be on drugs—you don’t have to do anything wrong. And then you become an unperson—you can do absolutely nothing wrong and still people spit in your face and call you a piece of shit, and somehow that’s OK.
