My first paycheck was for $9/hr, i made $36 that week

for reference a police officer where i live starts on $36 an hour (which is equivalent to the level 3 pay in other govt departments)

    the police are 80% " unionised "

also gonna guess it doesn't require a college degree to become a pig either since that's the norm for most places

yeah, suddenly having some bullshit work from home job just fills me with rage about whats happening to everyone else from my background and how senseless it is. i get paid more for doing way less work than my aunt does being a cleaner. i talk like i know how to code and had my regional accent beaten out of me, so i get treated better than my cousins on welfare. i watched my mother get sexually harassed working a cash register for 18 years, and somehow i get to dick around on hexbear for better living conditions?

seeing the middle class world is fucking appalling, because it makes it glaringly obvious how unfair and bullshit this system is

I found it was easy and natural to be a libertarian when I was a sheltered college kid who had a comfortable middle class upbringing and never worked except for some small summer jobs at the mall.

It was having an actual job and being responsible for rent, groceries, etc (and see the real world struggles others had, plus some other stuff) that radicalized me.

My first job was at a coffee shop and it was so impressively ass that it turned me communist

An American on reddit-logo once tried to tell me they had a better deal on insurance than socialised medicine could provide at a mere $250 a month with a $750 deductable, so I had to explain that the NHS is, even in its crippled state, that many orders of magnitude more efficient than American healthcare that I'd paid about £75-100 in taxes for its use the previous year, with no deductable.

I haven't ever received a paycheck, and it also makes me more communist with every passing day. I hate that even though I have a degree, no one wants to hire me to do a job that's literally just what I studied for five fucking years. Freelancing is also hard, so I'm just stuck living with my parents
