It's hard, but it's soooo worth it. Hard is underselling tbh. It's a process better measured in years than months. I remember what it felt like starting, I had to have the entire house to myself no roommates no one. It's like the one thing we have that isn't dominated by genetics - you CAN get the voice you want, just like with makeup kinda (you can get the eyeliner look you want with time and experience for example).
It does so much for passing, which is great sure, but it also does so much for your own euphoria. One day... you may be able to listen to a recording or video with yourself and not feel any of the cringe, because it'll be the voice you want to be coming out of you on the recording!
And yes I'm sure! Its one of my greatest dysphorias right now. I haven't been able to hear my own voice since puberty, not cringing would be amazing. And of course,
there's passing. Hopefully I can start working towards my perfect voice soon.
You can do it! You'll be very happy you started now in 2 years. You'll be very thankful to yourself for sticking with it even when the initial start seemed impossible. I know because that's exactly how I felt for me starting a little over 2 years ago
I know I will be, I really try to focus on how good it is starting now and not constantly wishing I figured it out earlier.
