What will surely be a financial drain resulting in some most likely accidentally excellent dadaism that will most benefit the wage workers doing the actual work rather than any of the financiers?

Don't threaten me with a good time.

what's the IP discussion on this like? Is valve involved? Will we get to see the toilet with G-man's head?

I do find it hilarious that after over a decade of announcements and rumors about Valve's IPs being made into a movie, the one that actually made it was a gmod youtube poop lol

There was some early talks for a show based on Team Fortress 2 to be produced for Adult Swim. That had potential.

I don't think a Portal or Half-Life movie would have worked very well, especially considering they were looking at JJ Abrams to direct.

Oh yeah that would have been great if done right.

I always thought a movie/trilogy covering the 7 hours war would be cool, but I feel like they'd just try to adapt the games themselves, which I think would be a waste.

there's so much potential! pick any random town, maybe even a small one near black mesa. Make it about some random character/family/friends group who just merely survive the invasion, or are surviving year 3 of the aftermath. all made up characters, no need for anything to be canon (but some would help). It would be so easy not to fuck up.

    I'm glad, because I think it's funny.

Also it opens the door for more garbage internet culture to get turned into full budget movies, which raises the chances of the one piece of nostalgia-bait mass media trash I actually want: a cinematic adaptation of the All Your Base flash.

after the success of Coyote vs. Acme, I can't wait for suddenly by the end of 2024 or 2025 there be hundreds of high profile "tax write off" movies, games, tv shows, etc..

Dramatic orchestral rendition of the theme in the trailer.
