Obviously the US government continues to be a fuck, but what are some things going on that we can genuinely root for/support?
Bolivia is not allowing their coup government to hold onto power. We will know how that turns out on Oct 18th.
Climate emissions for the year are down 8% thanks to covid. This is the IPCC’s target. If overall climate emissions declined by this much every year we might actually be able to return to the grand old traditional of being terrified of nuclear armaggeddon again.
Lol yes. Actually the environment would be doing great if humanity just vanished entirely.
If we hit that recession in 2021 and stack some natural disasters across the globe we could destroy the economy enough to have a similar effect

Things haven't gotten shitty/unstable enough for that yet, as bad as objective conditions have already gotten. A true boogaloo within the next year is still unlikely. At most we can expect Troubles-esque or Reconstruction-esque conditions with more spontaneous acts of terror, similar to the rash of school shootings over the past decade.
I have zero evidence to back this up, but I feel like we could really see the co-op movement take off in America in the next few years. It's amazing how literally 99% of my friends absolutely hate their jobs situations. Granted, you can like the idea but not actually do anything about it. But I feel like we're gonna see more millenials and zoomers start co-ops instead of just trying to start a business. Probably wishful thinking but w/e...
Have been seeing this crop up a lot personally as well & a lot of artist/maker circles are getting into it. Myself and a few friends have been considering consolidating into a small studio.
The idea of running a business where responsibility is evenly distributed/democratically run is incredibly appealing to most people & the only people who don't like co-ops are control freaks.
Probably wishful thinking/anecdotal, but I've seen a few other artist groups including our local guild succeed so it is possible.
That's the thing, strip out all the socialism from a co-op and I still don't know who would rather work in a typical corporate office, grocery store, warehouse, etc over that.
A native pigeon in NZ went missing from its birthplace reserve for 24 years and has now come back. It still recognises its keepers.
Mexie does a monthly positive leftist news and I feel like it's a good overview of positive change.
China's going to totally eradicate poverty in the next decade
