I apologize for a bit of a delay this time around. @Othello@hexbear.net will be taking a hiatus from Hexbear to redirect focus to local organizing efforts. For the time being, I will be taking over the posting of EM POC weekly threads.

With that aside, how's everyone doing? Any exciting news, funny memes or stories, or interesting takes? We'd love to hear it all!

Remember, EM POC only!

After getting dogpiled by white liberals for pointing out how Kopmala weaponizes her intersectional identities to trick marginalized groups into supporting fascism, I am completely fucking done with white liberals. No patience for them anymore, I don't want to talk with them or humor the lie they tell about us, that they are my friends. Friends don't shit on friends for objecting to genocide.

They want a white echo chamber, they can have it

Something something disappointed with the white moderate something something foxes and wolves.

They haven't changed in the 60 years since Civil Rights, where they had been even more useless than the century before.

You've repeated this phrase many times... a loading error possibly?

That being said, yeah, anyone who supports Kopmala, at best, doesn't care about genocide, at this point... agony-deep

Edit: oh yeah now I see it from mobile too, wtf. Deleting them now. Thanks

I've given up on trusting white people. Settlers should be required reading for the POC left. It'll save us so much disappointment and heart break.

There was a Twitter thread where an African American woman said that a tweet by a Palestinian American woman was "threatening" and got the whole soup of liberal crackers and the feds after her. Really endangering her life in the process.

The tweet was about how kopmala was coming to Chicago and how pro-palestine Chicagoans were ready for her.

It was cracker after cracker spewing the most hateful islamophobic nonsense at her that ultimately got the feds after her. Just straight up political intimidation.

I will never trust a white "leftist", "progressive", liberal in my life. I really thought things were going to change this time around. It didn't.

      • CommunistCuddlefish [she/her]
        ·

That's heinous. Downloading Settlers right now.

There's really only a small handful of white leftists -- leftists proper, not liberals -- I can fully trust, and the dividing line really seems to be where they fall on Palestine and the Democratic Party. If they support Palestine and want the highest echelons of the Democratic Party tried for war crimes, they're cool. If they waver or try to soften those stances at all, then they're really just liberals.

My (¡white!) partner warned me: "don't trust those white liberals, don't talk to them, don't try to pull them left. They're dangerous and they'll snitch on you as soon as the empire tells them their safety depends on wiping out the Left. I know you've seen what white people are like when they're attacking marginalized people, but I've seen what they're like from the other side. It's inhuman. They have no souls." I didn't listen. I should have listened.

What your partner said doesn't surprise me. You've heard/read about white people being surprised at other white people when in private. Those kind will be about coexistence and will support BLM and trans liberation in public or when their POC and/or trans friends are around. Those kind will never miss an opportunity to virtue signal about how tolerant and progressive they are compared to those dastardly Republicans. Here's the thing tho, those white people are the exact same people who will show their true colors when they're exclusively around other white people. In private or through online anonymity they'll let the other white people know how they really feel.

That's how you get stories of some white people getting shocked when those kind use slurs in front of them when there are no POCs around. It's a jarring experience I imagine, someone from your community thinks you're the same kind of racist they are.

It's a doomer reality and I hate it.

That makes sense. It's kind of amazing though, white liberals are so openly terrible and basically Nazis when they know they're talking to marginalized people. The idea that they may be masking somewhat and can and do get worse when they feel comfortable (namely, only amongst white people) is mind-boggling and kind of frightening.

It is. That's why whenever whites say that black Americans didn't free themselves from slavery because white people did it for them is probably their most bald-faced lie.

White people would keep slavery if there wasn't the threat of black revolution hanging over their heads.

Ahistorical too. Nat Turner showed white America at the time that they were not needed for liberation. Nice to have white people on your side, but absolutely not necessary. Many of the union soldiers were ex-slaves/ freed men that were looking to end slavery.

Black Americans freed themselves, despite a white onslaught.

Sometimes I wonder if the fetishization of John Brown was because the whites could better identify with him than with Nat Turner even though Nat Turner's actions were more successful. Not to dunk on JB, he did an objectively good thing too

You're right about Nat Turner, if he was white there would've been several movies about him made across the decades. The man spearheaded the change in rhetoric among whites and destroyed the 2 myths: that slaves loved being slaves and slaves weren't smart enough to stage a rebellion let alone be successful in it.

Depending on who you read, some people credit his rebellion as one of the events that led to the civil war.

                      He was a goddamn legend.

Can't make many movies with JB because he unfortunately wasn't as successful. Still badass tho

All I say is "Haitian Revolution", beyotch...

Btw, if there weren't that much kkkrakkas to out-populate them, I'd suppose the Black Americans would've certainly fought them, a l'Haiti...

I decided Im gonna post a bit more of my life in this thread. Me and my girlfriend are planning to stay together over night this week. I think its important to see if you can spend some "real" time together and not go on each others nerves. I just wanna spend more time with them. Every time we met ... I wanted to spend more time with them after they left.

My girlfriend is pretty good on some topics like race, gender, Palestine, capitalism. Despite being from the imperial core.

Will post more as I have time.

My Twitter and tiktok are started to sound similar which is annoying because I would use 1 to decompress from the other. I think it's all just election season related which means it'll be terrible for longer than I can endure. Maybe this will finally kill my phone addiction.

i don't use tiktok, but the few times i've been on twitter have been increasingly worse than the last. like at least with reddit i kinda wanna read the reactionary slop, but with twitter i just cringe then close the tab

i would strongly advise you to stop using at least twitter, if you can. even lurking it gives you brainworms or smth lol

Reddit demographics I guess shrug-outta-hecks

Friends, give me the real skinny: how racist is tiki culture? I like how the funny cups look and I like fun colors and flowers.

What's a not racist alternative to this?

There are some tiki bars that don't do "tiki" Polynesian culture. But those are rare and very new, just trying to avoid the potential backlash while keeping the drinks.

I guess it's actually total cultural appropriation. I know the aesthetics are taken from different Polynesian cultures and the drinks are Caribbean rum drinks, but, damn, I think it's fucking awesome. I love it. I would prefer that than some boringly sterile White ass mixologist, craft cocktail bar. It's a shame tiki is such a White space too but, I don't know, something about tiki feels so much more comforting. You feel like you're hanging out on a nice beach, who doesn't like that? Maybe it's my own culture I project into it but I enjoy it.

    interesting takes?

    Thinking of one...

Edit: Cambodia, as a socialist project, was salvageable, until Pol Pot and his reactionary pro-peasant faction decided to override and purge the pro-Soviet and Viet-aligned factions of the Communist Party, and inevitably decided to cause war against Vietnam, in 1977-1979, in order to 'return' to 'primitive communism'

Read Cambodia, 1975-1982, by Michael Vickery, if ye want some understanding on what I'm talking about.

Came across this YouTube video of yet another black YouTuber going to Harrison, Arkansas. You can tell it’s mostly white people pretending to be black commenting.

“he’s not racist. Just old school”- about a literal kkk member.

Or “I’m black and he’s not racist.”

White Americans have this vision that you aren’t racist if you spend time around poc or even fuck one. The only racists are people running around hurling slurs and violently attacking poc.

    How's everyone doing?

I'm doing well, been trying to just focus on my physical fitness and skill improvement. Trying to retrain myself for employment purposes.

    Any exciting news

I getting back into fighting games and I found a really cool POC/Queer community for fighting community. Lots of these katz are really cool and great at teaching systems and mechanics.

    interesting takes?

Because I'm having to retrain myself I find myself reading about corporate jobs. I am thoroughly convinced that private tyranny is something that has been thoroughly normalized in our society. I find it so strange that everyone must do exactly as their employer says or face starvation. This isn't a new insight, but I do believe it's worth talking about always. As a worker/proletariat/regular dude, I think it's always important to focus politics on the regular everyday stuff, and I think a lot of regular everyday stuff gets overlooked because of how normalized it is. It’s really fuckin’ wack that private tyrants have made the idea that democracy only happens in the “public” space, and the “public” space is getting privatized more and more every day.

I wish I could be good at fighting games but I don't have the technical skills/muscle memory for it. Lots of overlap with chess and go, but in real time. RTS games I have the same problem, despite playing them for most of my life.

As far as I'm concerned, these are the only two genres that come close to being sports. You legit have to do cardio exercises to play at the professional level. That's not the case with MOBAs where people are taking smoke breaks between matches at world championship events lmao

Confidently I got into Fighting games and RTS games from Chess in middle school. My parents didn't want me playing "violent" games that had contemporary violence (like a Call Of Duty) and let me buy/play games that had violence that was either 3rd person like an RTS or absurd like fighting game. I have always liked games that make think about how I'm playing them rather than just responding to whatever the "current" meta is. The moment to moment in an RTS or a Fighter is very much like Chess in that you're constantly examining yourself and yourself in respect to your opponent and vice versa.

I had a ghost burrito. I distinctly remember having a burrito in my fridge, but it vanished. I probably ate it, but I can't say for sure that something supernatural isn't going on.
