Injection anxiety
I just did my second injection. I don't know why, but for some reason I was more scared to put the needle in this time. I sat there holding the syringe full of estrogen for like 20 minutes after I filled it up, and now I'm worried it got infected. I'm sure I'll get better at this soon, but I thought that it would be easier the second time...
And I chickened out before I got it all in again. The thing is, most people say Lena's recommended dosage of 0.22ml at 50 mg/ml is way too high, so I'm not really worried about losing 0.6ml, but I wish I were at least brave enough to do the full thing.
I feel kinda weird again, but I know it's in my head.
Second time was worse for me too. Needles are scary
It's not like it even hurts that much! They're only half an inch in my case; it's less painful than scratching myself. I guess the penetration just makes it feel scarier.
Yeah. It doesn't hurt at all for me (I have a bad sense of pain). I'm just squeemish about sticking a needle in more than like half a milimeter...
For some reason, the doctors "prescribed" 1" needles and I didn't bother looking (and its more than a year supply. I often don't stick it all the way in though.
If you were using a fresh sterile syringe and needle (which you should be btw) then I wouldn’t worry about it being infected
Yeah, it's just because I had the needle exposed for so long before using it. Even though I never put it down or let it touch anything.
Still for just 20 minutes and without touching anything I don’t think that’s an issue. Unless you like sneezed on it or something idk
I probably blew on it. But I won't worry about it.

I can't guarantee it but it didn't get infected by sitting in the air. That's "just" anxiety - which doesn't take away how real or scary it feels, it just doesn't match with reality. If you're still concerned, monitor your injection site for the next few days and see if it gets sore, warm and red. And it won't be a "oh I dunno is this red and sore?" It will be obvious and hurt. Then ypu would go to emerg lol (might need IV antibiotics)
11 mg seems high, I'm on 6 mg once a week and I'm pretty happy. Is it once a week? If its a bigger depo shot then it makes sense. The only real problem with higher doses is you increase your risk of blod clots, also you can't really speed run HRT transitioning by taking more. You're just kinda stuck with how long it takes. I guess it all depends on your bloodwork.
