There are no real people on linked in, it's the fakest "social network" I've ever used, just wall to wall blood sucking vampires or people begging to be turned into a vampire. Fuck that hell hole.
I know right! People acting appalled by the Chinese social credit score always surprised me. We do all the same things but worse; credit scores, linkedin, bullshit no fly list, NSA tracking dissidents.

It's funny how that conversation completely dropped off the radar.
Kind of like the Ghost Cities thing back in the early '00s. Or the suicide nets surrounding the FoxConn factory roof. Or Beijing's bad air quality (it's like smoking three packs a day! I can't believe how little they care about their environment!).
People are just now coming back around to remembering that we were supposed to Free Tibet. What ever happened to the Dalai Llama world tour? Haven't seen him in a while.
I guess it's that these criticisms don't stick so they have to keep moving on to the next one. I think Xijiang is reaching the end of it's lifespan and they'll be moving on the next one in a few months
I say it all the time but posting on LinkedIn is strictly for sociopaths.
I would love to find a weird twitter parallel on there though.
Some Guy I work with literally posted this six times a day until HR told him it was unsettling.
He also posted variations of the “weak should fear the strong” memes.
He is my least chuddy coworkers.
So's this classic:

Linked in is the worst platform on social media and it should be banned
It's... not so bad. Sometimes I look out my window and cry a little. But then I have another beer to numb the pain and it's not so bad.
All the big posts are just different flavours of Survivorship Bias. Like they're all "I was raised in a garbage dump but then I got 3 degrees from MIT and Harvard and now I'm a #Googler. You can leave the garbage dump too if you also take on all of these debts and risks and burn yourself out!"
*if you're top 1% of intelligence and health and natural inclination towards tedious studying and rote memorization
A full 70% or so of all LinkedIn “add me to your network” connections I ever got were from “financial advisors” or fucking MLM scammers. What an awful platform. Deleted my account having gotten absolutely no value out of it.
I've landed a few jobs out of it, but mostly because I got in touch with a recruiter who passed me on to an agency who hooked me up with an in-person interview at the firm.
Like, direct hire on that site is a scam. Basically impossible.
