I mean, if they're black metal if they're not Nazis they're probably one or two degrees from one

Zeal and Ardor are definitely not nazis. They actually have a BLM album coming out super soon. The singles they've released from it have been tight as fuck.

Every metal band should have a Controversy section on Wikipedia.

This list is incomplete. You can help by expanding it.

    Degrees of things here:

-If they're openly critical of capitalism/imperialism/etc then buy their albums.

-If they're openly expressing reactionary sentiment in their songs don't listen to them.

-If they are neutral in their lyrics but express reactionary sentiments in interviews then either don't listen to them or don't pay to listen to them, pirate.

Metal Archives tags all of the nsbm bands. Outside of that you’re wading into the realm of subjectivity. You’ll have to decide where you draw the line. For example, there are plenty of bands who did/do not have fascist lyrics, but some of the members had/have shitty beliefs. And some of those people have at least partially walked back their statements, attributing them to being an edgy teen or whatever. Lots of gray area unfortunately
