Toyosatomimi no Miko is a character in the Touhou Project series introduced in its 13th installment, Ten Desires.

Miko was once Prince Shoutoku, a Japanese leader in the 600s known for promoting Buddhism and streamlining the Japanese government. In the Touhou lore, she was visited by Taoist hermit Seiga Kaku, who had heard about Miko’s longing for immortality. Seiga introduced her to Taoism, but she rejected it as a religion unfit for placating an entire country. She was intrigued by its promise of immortality, however, and privately converted to it, advocating for Buddhism to keep Japan stable. After drinking an “immortality elixir” (mercury sulfide), however, she was forced to let go of her body and become a supernatural hermit like Seiga, notably taking on the form of a woman, making her a canonically trans character (lets-fucking-go).

After convincing a hermit from a rival clan (Mononobe no Futo) to sleep without decaying, Miko followed in suit, waiting for a time where a Taoist Japan would revive her in search of guidance. However, Buddhist monks were able to keep her mausoleum sealed, and the legends surrounding her were slowly brushed off- which led to her transportation into Gensokyo, where the folklore of old is a reality of everyday life.

When she awoke in Gensokyo, it was right after Buddhist monk Byakuren Hijiri opened her own temple, however, leading to a surge of divine spirits across the realm, setting up the events of Ten Desires.

What look like headphones on her are canonically earmuffs- Shoutoku was allegedly able to discern between ten questions asked at once, an ability carried by Miko (although with her enhanced abilities, she can also analyze each person and determine their inner desires (thus the title of the game))- although it means her hearing is highly sensitive and has to be muffled to prevent pain.

rider-waite deck yeah, this is my current deck and love how they married simplicity and abstract art into a beautiful deck. what kind of abrahamic deck have you been looking at?

so you're jewish? this is going to be possibly really weird, but like they just released a choice of games, game that's about trying to save your jewish village from an upcoming pogrom and it's packed to the brim with yiddish, and stuff from the books that I'm too goy to remember basil-anxious-smile. but that's so cool lea-happy , wish it would be easier to find people who try to turn religions more inclusive honestly.

nothing against furries, i admire their convictions, but i definitely can't afford a full fur suit, and don't even want one really nia-peace

    hyperflush

shy oh uh yeah i look really cute in them heh

    thicc

yeah thicc and tall, don't forget anya-heh yeah been using sock dreams, but i have to pay customs to ship to finland and it's expensive when combined with shipping madeline-sadeline

    i have really long legs

i would go on week long trips, camping on beaches, eating lots of MREs.

    waow-based

Yeah, ive been struggling with burnout on and off for years now. Dropped out of school and just kinda drifting right now, trying to recover functionality and address some mental health issues (anxiety, potential adhd, potential bipolar/cyclothymia).

it took them a while to find the correct dosage of depression meds for my anxiety and depression, but they finally got it. you'll get through this, sweetie.

lea-think so what is the exchange rate between headpats and knowledge/practise exactly? We need to be scientific about this lea-happy

god you're just so multitalented, it's crazy. all i know is make food, bake, eat hot chip and read gay slop. i did got to school for 3 years that basically had programming and pc usage as a big part of them, but I remember nothing blob-no-thoughts

tell me about it! the evil regime of the sun has had it's day, it's time for the autumn revolution already! angery

    What about you lovely?

heeeeelea-blush yeah situated in finland probably for the long haul, doesnt seem like things are getting better in southern europe and....yeah. getting kinda eepy it's 1am.

i do like baking a lot still, even though my job almost crushed it out of me, i just love the whole process, of how you can see the bread through all of the phases and hold it in your hand and know that you made this. one of the best feelings. otherwise i'm just into reading and gaming, hopefully i can manage to get exercising in on a more permanent basis again soon. i dunno i think im kinda boring honestly aubrey-embarassed

Thats really pretty! I love black+white and monotone images, they just speak to me more.

The abrahamic deck i was looking at a year ago, idk if i can find it easily again. It was black cards with white lineart of abrahamic figures, e.g. moses.

      so you're jewish?

Short answer: yes. Jewish answer: it depends on how you look at it. Like, i havent been to shul since I was young, but have beliefs rhat line up with it, plus the cultural everything, idk, its a big complicated topic lol.

this is going to be possibly really weird, but like they just released a choice of games, game that's about trying to save your jewish village from an upcoming pogrom and it's packed to the brim with yiddish, and stuff from the books that I'm too goy to remember

Yeah i saw that! It looked really cool! Ive been very very slowly learning yiddish, but dont have anyone to speak it with. Plus the people who speak yiddish today tend to be hassidim :/

wish it would be easier to find people who try to turn religions more inclusive honestly.

Its so hard. The people who stay in it often are bound to it close enough that any movement is small. Judaism has a lot of room for reinterpretation and i think that helps, but its still hard to find people.

oh uh yeah i look really cute in them heh

      panting

yeah thicc and tall, don't forget

      I wont kel-bliss

I know the struggle of thigh highs and height, im like 195, and often find things i want that just wont fit me the way I want kitty-birthday-sad

Those are so cool tho!!! Like i can make bread but im not a baker, i can only do the basic stuff. Idk, i feel like im okay to good at many things, but incapable of being great at anything.

It really is. The whole idea of israel as a state is fucked from both a religious and ethical standpoint. And like, they ignored and actively worked against diaspora languages like yiddish and ladino, but they also fucked up hebrew too! Modern hebrew is super different from biblical hebrew, and in a bad way imo. Hebrew was a semitic language, but modern hebrew (i dont speak it so take this with salt) is almost more of a european language in its grammar, just with semitic word construction.

where is here, if i can ask?

Im in burgerland wtf and its not amazing. Also the burgers are really expensive.

            ^^

            mornin, sweetheart.

            burgerland burgers

you'd think the yanks would get those right, but no smdh wtf

            grass touching

the grass is icky and gross, but have to emerge from my little nest sometimes. It's for meeting some family who i havent seen in over a decade. kinda nervous tbh

            baking

so! a little history first, russian empire imported culture from fr#nce (derogatory), during their "modernising" period under Peter the Great. I'll have to assume this is also when they became aware of the fr#nch bread. The russians already had a pretty cool bread baking culture of their own, so they took it in stride.

Jump forwards to the soviet times and they decided to standardise the recipe so you could get the same bread no matter where you were. They combined some russian well trotted practises and created the Soviet City Loaf. The fr#nch use bread starter (it's like a proto dough) soviets decided to use instant yeast and a russian style pre dough technique, making the whole process faster and easier.

Ok now that I've bored you let's get into it badeline-anxious

I can link you the recipe if you want it, but the main ingredient is time. After making the pre dough you leave it to rise for 2 hours, after which you make the dough which you again leave to rise for 1h and 30mins. Afterwards you divide the dough into balls and let them rest for a fee minutes before you shape them into bread.

After all that you need to leave them for 45mins, a lot of waiting. Now you take a sharp knife and slice each loaf lenghtwise, with a quick movement using a sharp knife.

The loaves have to be baked in sream to receive the best results, so what you can do is place a empty baking pan on the bottom rack of the oven and pour warm water into it just after you place the loaves in.

the loaf will try to "grow" out of the slice you cut into it giving the bread a satisfying looking appearance as the hardened outer skin breaks at the easiest point of resistance i.e the cut. the baking time is 15-20mins in 220c.

the bread looks and tastes absolutely divine but it's still cohesive enough that it doesnt just crumble when you cut slices out of it. meow-melt

oh no ohnoes thats a lot of words, hopefully it reads well. basil-anxious

yeah, i'm out to them and they support the process, but it's still kinda nerve wracking

                bread lore

yeah usually fr#nch loaves are kept overnight, but the soviet socialist method is faster ussr-cry

the steam hardens the outer shell faster, usually when you bake something the yeast and sugar/salt activate one last time and thus they get bigger while baking, with the steam the outer shell hardens while this is still happening giving the loaves their signature break

~thank you for coming to my bread theory hour~ ^^
