I was justified in not looking forward to election season. My trans lit class is full of white libs lol.

I do hope, but I do find white libs insufferable, awful lot of white fragility with the anti-cracker-aktion

That's because they're fragile, crumbly crackers when you press them. Fuck them for that, stand strong. comrade-raccoon

So you’re saying the universities aren’t neo-Marxist and run by minorities who want to genocide white people and if you disagree with one you get hanged?/s

Also one of the things that pains me greatly is, if it's not Otros Valles by Jamie Berrout the trans litfic genre is soooooooooooo obnoxiously white all the time. Berrout writes abt it in her essays.

      White lib feminists, uggggghhh

Hopefully they're cool, they're in a trans lit class! That's gotta count for something

Unfortunately a lot of them are white queer people... imagine the .world talking points. The white chauvinism in that room when I pushed back on the post-debate Dem endorsement was off the charts.

I've always wondered exactly how far left both the authors and the readership is for that stuff, never had a real good read. Sometimes I think it's hyperlibshit, sometimes I'm like "maybe they read a lil Marx? as a treat?"

No idea if this class represents the general readership, but I bet a lot of them think of Marx as a "scary tankie" shit

There’s probably a bit of selection bias due to it being a university course. The only A Novel I’ve read is Detransition Baby, and while it definitely had libshit-y vibes at times (I was not surprised to find out that Torrey Peters has an MFA) it kinda seems like anything that anti-assimilationist is automatically precluded from being true libshit. Like, libshit is about preserving the status quo, and I feel like with how marginalized trans people are simply providing a trans narrative that doesn’t cater to cis audiences or cis sensibilities runs counter to that

I am also not surprised that Peters has an MFA, but yes the A Novels do at least carry a strong anti-assimilationist streak, and Manhunt is actually pretty based frankly. Doesn't seem to have stopped the libs from glomming onto one or two sadly, but not catering to cis audiences is something I love about this funny special interest of mine. I do worry sometimes that the publishers view it like a carnival sideshow though...
