Seize on any chance to radicalize people against the police, even if it's for the most petty possible reason.

The NYPD broke the leg of an Atlanta Hawks player in 2015. They settled a lawsuit with him but no one was punished.

New York City Paid an NBA Star Millions After an NYPD Officer Broke His Leg. The Officer Paid Little Price.

But the payout — which didn’t cost the officers a dime — is where any accountability ended. The city had insisted during the case that the officers were blameless, and they ended up facing no significant punishment.

It’s left Sefolosha frustrated. “To get a settlement was a small victory. But big picture, it’s a small drop,” Sefolosha told ProPublica from his home in Vevey, Switzerland. “When are people going to be held accountable? You have to have repercussions. They’re going to do it over and over again.”

New York City has paid more than $1 billion over the past five years to settle lawsuits against the NYPD, according to data released by the city.

Only a celebrity death at the hands of police could galvanize the liberals. Sounds morbid, but there you have it.

IIRC this happened to Michael K. Williams where he was at a restaurant with friends and the police came in and started harassing them, "looking for a suspect." Then one of the officers recognized Williams. They all of a sudden dropped their investigation, wanting autographs and selfies. Williams was like "Oh no, no, no motherfuckers let's go back to what you're doing here in the first place and just harassing the first group of black people you see."

The cops were reprimanded for harassing a celebrity with a verbal warning or someshit, with no investigations about racial profiling and harassment.
