If I thought Trump was intelligent I would guess he's saying shit like this right after a big public moment with Musk specifically to try to smack Musk back down and try to get even more out of him. Because honestly that's a great strategic move.

Probably Trump just isn't thinking though.

Musk thinks he’s Trump’s best friend but Trump can barely remember his name on a good day

It might be Trump punishing Elon for his behavior at the rally. Trump wants to be the center of attention 100% of the time and acting like a clown and jumping up and down is stealing his thunder.

So Elon goes and prostrates himself to Trump and this is the result he gets? Lol.

for sure. Remember when they booed him for making fun of his sons for game hunting. He was like "bit cowardly to hunt an elephant with a powerful gun from a mile away, you don't need that for self-defense"

Trump is a closet leftist and he is the true identity of BMF. Change my mind.

They said we're not going to eat the bugs. I said but have you tried the sauces? We have so many beautiful, wonderful sauces. You dip the bugs in the sauces. It's more about the sauces, folks.

I think this might be the first time I support a Trump policy. It's just bullshit he's saying today, of course, but years ago a self driving car ran over a woman in Arizona and everyone I talked to made excuses for the car and blamed the woman. I don't want to be dodging self driving cars and I don't want to be blamed when one hits me. I don't want companies to somehow avoid liability with their lawyers and infinitely deeper pockets than ours.

This His thinking is getting glitchier and glitchier. My theory is due to a brain fart he stuck in "but" and forgot "them". I think he meant to use his typical broken phraseology - something like this...

"A little concerning to me. The autonomous vehicles - we're going to stop them from operating."

To me that sounds 100% ordinary for Trump.

      ---

      Edit

I just noticed the typo. I fear my thinking is getting glitchier and glitchier as well.

It reminds me of standup comics. They're fond of the construction and so is Trump.

The lead up to the punchline: "The autonomous vehicles..."

The punchline - so to speak: "We're going to stop them from operating."

          ---

A standup version could be "The autonomous vehicles... Somebody is gonna stop them from operating in my neighborhood."
