The Iron Man suit runs on tech-themed magic (repulsion fields, infinite energy reactor) and unfortunately Elon Musk does seem to know the difference between that and maybe-plausible future tech stuff.

Maybe neuralink will get him though.

Except he'll call himself "CyberXman" and he'll try to have Wolverine claws built into it, which he will accidentally impale his own head with.

I still expect him to attempt a trip to the International Space Station, but his rocket explodes mid-flight and he either dies or lands in some place like the DPRK or Venezuela, where they will arrest him and force him to live a normal life for some months.

The dude's basically just a brand now. I don't think he's ever going to do an actual stunt a la sending a car into space or buying twitter ever again. The cyber-truck actually was a bit of a surprise to me. He's just a meme guy who attracts CHUD capital now.

His memes have gotten less materially ambitious over the years. I doubt he'll do anything actually ballsy again, he can have a guy dress up in a jumpsuit and pretend to be a robot and bring bucks in, he could sell his post jizz tissues and make bank now.

Well in fairness the car-into-space on the first Falcon Heavy launch thing was only half-meme. New prototype rockets do usually lift some inert mass about the same as a satellite, to be able to see how the rocket actually flies with a satellite without risking an actual expensive satellite. It's usually a block of concrete. That rocket was going to be launched regardless, and it was going to have a heavy test payload anyway to get the math right, so why not chuck a car into the asteroid belt? It had the side benefit of being something way less dangerous than a solid concrete block if anything went wrong and the whole thing had come crashing back down to Earth.

I saw a 3d printed titanium one was made that did stop rifle rounds. I don't think they ever got the litte jet pack thingies integrated right but for sure a billionaire type has one to play with already

      jet pack thingies

Isn't that just like...regular plate armor lol? The reason the suit in Ironman is important is because it flies, shoots fireballs, and helps lift things.

We haven't had armor that can properly stop long arm fire for hundreds of years. Early firearms could be stopped by late chest plates but modern armor is a backup plan. We can reliably protect people from bullets like level four plates will stop a few rifle rounds but they are big enough we can only armor people in very limited ways with them. With the level of protection in the armor in the video you could be confidently safe from any civilian weapon. Which is a wildly diffrent idea than bullet proof vests giving you an extra chance to escape.

So yes, it still lacks mobility aids this armor, from some five years ago represents a fundamental change in a person's relationship ship to the wold around them. So it will be interesting to see when this gets cheap enough to give to swat teams what kinda possibilities are opened up.

He should make like Tony Stark and develop a serious drinking problem, then start a fight with the US government about who has the right to use his Iron Man technology and then eventually die and let his best friend become Iron Man
