Navy Bean
now i want beanis in a cute lil sailor suite emoji
Also I just learned that great northern beans have 17-20g of protein in 1 cup 😳
They are so good. My subsistence food is a crock pot full of lentils, great northern beans, potatoes, and cabbage (edit: onions, too!). Mushrooms when I got em. Salt, pepper, paprika, cayenne. Some rice to soak up the last liquid in the last half-hour. And when everything is cooked through? I stir in can of coconut milk (edit: and a big spoon of minced garlic!), put half of the pot's contents into the freezer and half in the fridge, and eat for days.
This sounds good as hell. Do you have the measurements or do you just eyeball it?
Please to forgive that everything will be in burger units
I think my crock pot is a gallon and a half, maybe two? The beans and lentils are two cups of dry each, and I dice up 1/3 or 1/2 cabbage depending on cabbage size. At least four small potatoes, diced. I typically dice up at least two medium or large onions - can't go wrong with more. Mushrooms is either a whole can or whole small package of fresh, diced up. Usually there is still room in the pot for enough water to support smooth convection overnight without a real need to stir. one cup of rice is usually enough to achieve the porridgey consistency I like.
Spice amounts are to taste. I don't get too fancy with it, as, for variety, I often stir different spices and condiments in anyway when I serve myself a bowl.
Awesome, thanks! Gonna be making this sometime soon. Also as a Burgerlad resident, burger units are fine!
