I'm not going to either. You can't make me. I can't even imagine what it sounds like and I won't try.

It's fine. I think if you want pop music, Miley Cyrus's most recent record is more interesting. And if you want fucked up pop music, 100 gecs is more interesting. But it's fine.

I thought Billie Eilish was some late ‘70s/early ‘80s rock type (a’la Bruce Springsteen or something) until like three days ago

Oh, it's a song. I see. I thought it was just a random slang term people adopted, but of course it is yet another carefully cultivated bit of "culture" pushed by suits to sell something.

"Kamala is brat" means I'm not gonna even try it.

I haven't listened to anything from Beyonce or Taylor recently either. I don't trust art from rich people.

haven't heard it but Kamala's association with it means that if I ever do listen to it, it will sound like Palestinian children screaming

But have you heard Not Like Us?

(Euphoria was the best song in the Drake diss saga and it's not even close, but Not Like Us is the one dems played to death)

Just cause the libs taint trends in music and pop culture like this doesn't mean it's bad. That said, I liked the first song on Brat, but the rest of the album wasn't my thing.

tbf the artist also tainted it with that association.

I'm not talking about the work itself, I mean that psychologically the association was pushed by the artist, who is popularly regarded as the main authority on a piece, saying that "candidate embodies the spirit of my album". I'm speaking on the level of rhetoric here.

That said, it's extremely easy to find music from people who don't fellate reactionaries like that, even if they're still liberals or whatever.

It's good but "How I'm Feeling Now" is better if you want to check out Charli's best works

      brat EXPLAINED IN 30 SECONDS

it's a very good pop album by charli xcx, who has been making good pop albums for years but brat is the first to achieve mainstream success. her music is more risk-taking and experimental than other more well-known pop stars, and up until recently she has had a largely young queer fanbase.

the memes are mostly about the album cover, which is just the word "brat" in low resolution stretched arial font in front of a bright lime green background, like something you could make in ms paint in 30 seconds. charli changed all of her past album covers to a similar design on streaming services, replacing the original covers which tended to feature sexually charged images of her. thus the memes were born, with people putting other words/phrases into this image format
