I'm severely depressed and being annoying online is my therapy so sorry I guess.

I think, whatever your position on 'the issues' the joy of this place is both that it is saucy and that it is friendly at the same time. The dirtbag side longs for dustups and crassness and those are gonna happen, we just need to learn how to turn those into even more jokes, like the OP here did. And these are not meaningless discussions, sad as it is I have learned soo much of what I know from chapo struggle posts.

Almost like a communications medium so frustrating, that it becomes, like a castle, if you will, one filled with a sort of "vampire"

Kind of hate myself for getting stressed over a website I barely post on. I mostly want to shit talk capitalism and upvote fun pictures of animals.

The site's been growing fast lately, and there are a lot of new people-lefties, libs, onlookers, and the occasional shit stirrer- who have to be inducted into the vibe, yknow? I'm just some rando who you don't know, but I just wanna say I hope you feel a little bit better today, and I hope you continue to hang out and shitpost with us through this acclimation period.

Ok but why do libs always act like politics is a sport and how they love a good debate then when shit actually challenges their beliefs they choose genocide instead of change

It's honestly just embarrassing. It really reminds me of uni days back before 2010 where there was always an extremely online contingent of "leftists" who would spend literally all of their time arguing in the library.

It's a shame too because while reddit is garbage, the thing that made r/chapo so entertaining was that it was clearly so unlike reddit in that it was more about being anti-debate-nerd than about endlessly arguing about dumb online shit.

It attracted dumbass reddit chuds who then immediately were met with "lol no die bich, im fucking your dad" whereas this site obviously isn't doing that at all, and instead seems to just be a sort of cloistered little shell for people to retreat to. The sense of humor is just gone.

I think the problem isn't the constant arguing, it's that the arguing is utterly sincere.

You don't have to be an irony poisoned south park guy to get that stuff can be too online. We seem to have totally rejected this and swung in the vastly opposite direction, real vampire castle hours.

Maybe I don't go deep enough on the struggle session threads but I mostly see people discussing their ideas in a mostly civil way, especially for how wildly different the opinions can get. We don't all agree on everything obviously but there are at least some people reminding everyone here that we still need unity from time to time.

Edit: People being transphobic yesterday sucked tho
