Every year there are technical problems with those weird fucked up voting machines you yanks use, and nothing is done.

Every year there are hours long wait times to vote, and nothing is done (although tbf that is by design)

Every year people ask why Election Day isn’t a federal holiday, and nothing is done.

Multiple times the electoral college does not match up with the popular vote, and nothing is done.

Jesus fucking Christ America, I’m just waiting for someone to up and say out loud that only white propertied folks should have the vote, because it sure as hell seems that way.

RE: the electoral college, there was a post going around on lib Facebook circles telling people to vote blue because the Democrats were the one party who wanted to finally get rid of the electoral college, and how OP would be happy to vote third party in 4 years after that is done.

I'm sure that's going to go great.

I've never used a digital voting machine or waited more than 10 minutes to vote.

Election Day as a holiday solves nothing because most people who have trouble getting to the polls are service worker's who don't get paid holidays anyway. There's already laws in place that require your job to give you time to vote (unpaid natch)

The point of the electoral college is to prevent the popular masses from picking the President. The men who wrote the Constitution made it specifically to put a check on the masses. "Checks and Balances" means "make sure that there's a check on popular rule so that the poor masses can't harm the wealthly elite", and it always has. Much like abolishing the Senate, getting rid of the electoral college is one of those things that implies tearing down the entire system.

I haven't. I have seen these news stories of black voters waiting in line every year though. People need to realize that liberals simply trot these poor people out as props/doom porn every year, and have no incentive to fix anything because then they lose their propaganda.
