Obviously you gotta look out for any news, landing pages, texts, water cooler conversations, TV in general, electronics, opening your eyes, and the town crier but how long could you realistically go?

Assuming you don't go to your bunker in the woods I guess.

I'm gonna try, but my guess is Thursday when I discord with my friends. It'll come up, I'm sure.

Being a US puppet, Impossible unless you fuck off to the woods. Either hear about it on the radio or on one of these things that would show news time to time

    Show

but most likely I’d hear about it Wednesday

(my dumbass misread the post as non-usians, whoops)

Actually USians may not realize, but in a lot of non-US countries either who you work for is dependent on US trade or works directly with US clients. Either way US election results sometimes are a stronger indicator of layoffs than literally anything in the local economy. Sometimes USians get frustrated with other people following their presidential election, and trust me bro if it didn't affect me and my family I wouldn't care.

If you live in a republican state, probably -2 hours since if it's even a bit close you'll be drafted into the new state militia and forced to fight federal troops.

If you live in anywhere else, either 5 minutes or never depending on if you're asleep when the nuclear bombs go off.

It’ll be somewhat drawn out, but by the next morning it’ll be fairly obvious who’s going to win. Recounts will be called for, accusations will be thrown and court cases will follow. It’ll be months before it’s official, and it will be so boring no one will really care.

[fascist] is favored to win the Electoral College 53 times out of 100, compared to 47 for [fascist], according to FiveThirtyEight’s election forecast. Statistician Nate Silver’s model shows [fascist] with a 51.5% chance of winning.

You might be onto something here

If I had a lib coworker that talked all the time excitedly about the election I'd feel compelled to be the buzzkill and keep mentioning she doesn't differ from Trump on any actual substantive policy. I'd also have to keep reminding them that anything they seem to hallucinate about what Kamala wants to do as president, Biden and her could've done for four years now... or right now! That includes everything from ending the war/genocide in Palestine, ending the supplying of arms for endless war in Ukraine/Russia, ending the supplying of arms to Taiwan for war with China to small beans domestic stuff like unilaterally declaring cannabis to be changed to schedule 4 substance or just remove it all together... the USAG (at direction from their boss, the president) can tell the DEA they have 24 hours to do it then just keep firing and replacing the heads until someone complies. Also Biden has made ZERO moves or attempts at reckoning with SCOTUS as an entity of the overturning of Roe. He hasn't had a law pushed to the house or senate hasn't arrested any obviously corrupt justices, governors, etc. Pretty clear he absolutely does not care. Is Kamala gonna be minecrafting in Minecraft select justices day 1? I doubt it. My liberal coworker would either kill me or themselves before long.

I guess I could do the same to a Trump supporter. "I dunno. Trump seems like a pussy now. Why is he exactly the same as the democrats?"

I think it's rare for their to be an "official" winner declared in the news anymore in the first 24 hours, especially in the age of "they stole the election!" claims. when I was young, we always found out the night of the election. now it's like a couple of days when we are told who probably won, followed by weeks of court challenges and attempted recounts and no one conceding.

if it's decisively over before the week is out with no court cases, I'll be surprised.

If we know Wed/Thur before noon then I'll know around noon. If not then I have no plans this coming weekend and realistically go until next Wednesday by turning my phone off.
