Visiting reddit is....I mean these people really are located in their own echo chamber aren't they. The genocide was hardly unpopular with Republicans, but it was extremely unpopular among democrat voters and yet despite that she decided to dive headlong into defending it.

Gee, what could she have done to earn those voters to her side......let me think......MAYBE STOP SUPPORTING THE DAMN THING?!

Reagan and Bush, both REPUBLICANS, put in the effort to threaten Israel with cutting their support to them and they got results; the only reason I can see why the DNC would support the genocide is because there's something to gain, either that or ideological reasons.

Absolute idiots; they did this to themselves and now libs are upset with everyone but Kamala's own failures. You know what makes me angry? Just how deaf libs are to reason; they'll just tell one another it was everyone else's fault and, much like that failure Kamala, refuse to listen to the people desperately telling them why they're not voting for her WHO ALSO TOLD THEM HOW EASY IT WOULD BE TO GET OUR VOTES!

There was a tweet on the reddit front page that actually said Kamala lost because the uneducated voted for Trump. These people are lunatics.

This is a direct result of a politics that doesn’t offer material benefits but rather gives people a way to posit themselves as The Adults in the Room. That itch is going to get scratched one way or another, either in the smug satisfaction of victory or the finger wagging at the “children” in defeat.

The libs are claiming Harris lost because people are racist and sexist, but fail to realize that those who are voting based on those metrics were already voting for Trump, even back when Biden was running.

Lol I love that argument because it means that we can finally accept that the US is less more sexist than Mexico, which just elected a Jewish woman president. Never mind she and her party just spent the last n years pursuing policies that made material differences in the lives of ordinary families. That’s beside the point.

They’re running the same excuses as 2016. It’s the Stein and other 3rd party voters that made Kamala lose, not the fact that she ran a shit campaign towards republicans who were never voting for her in the first place.

It’s especially sickening how they’ve gone mask off with their hatred of Gaza protesters blaming them and at worst now celebrating the fact Trump will continue this genocide. I have no sympathy for these freaks.

Votes are still being counted but when all is said and done: that excuse might hold even less water then it did in 2016. Obviously in this community we all recognize that the premise that "a green vote is a vote stolen from a democrat" is complete bunk...but it is at least true that if you gave Clinton the green votes in 2016 she would have won the election. Is that even gonna be true in this situation though??? This seems like a pretty clean sweep.

Even if that ended up being the case what is their actual solution to that other than just deploying the same rhetoric against those people they were already using.

Man it sucks how you can only do politics once every four years. If only there was a way to engage politics outside election years.

If only there were other options to engage in meaningful political struggle outside of just voting. Oh well, brunch is cancelled so I guess we just have to sit and feel sad until we can do a politics again.

"We won't know for who or what their platform will be until they tell us but we are already prepared to support the DNCs choice for us. They will of course offer us even more right-wing candidates and policies over 4 years while lecturing us about reality and how the R party is both necessary and an existential threat."

"No, that plan hasn't been proven useless and self-defeating, why won't you leftists just die already?"

Hey, thanks for this; someone addressed a reply I made and said that Kamala and Biden 'made their calculus' on how many votes they'd get if they changed course on Israel vs if they stayed it and decided that continuing to support Israel would be better for them; this proves whatever 'calculus' they made (let's be real, they didn't calculate anything) was junk.

The genocide of Palestine is what radicalized me. Well, the final step anyway. The 100% cumulative inflation over 4 years, along with my rent going up by $3600 a year for the last 4 years, along with my income decidedly not going up by 100% did most of the legwork.

I was a solidly progressive leaning liberal before I couldn’t ignore reality anymore.

I’m talking hating on China, shit talking working class folks, the whole nine yards. I voted for Biden in 2020.

But I just couldn’t reconcile in my mind how my fellow liberals could support this obvious genocide so wholeheartedly with a smile on their face.

And here I am. One less Harris vote and one more PSL vote.

Liberals are outnumbered 2-to-1 by non-voters. 50% of the electorate did not vote in 2020, so if they aren't doorknocking they are not serious.

The projection from your :LIB: friends will be at an all time high, so be on the lookout.

Here are some non-doomer threads to breadpill your :LIB: friends and family

Lit for your weeping lib neighbors

Just a reminder to tell your fellow liberals that they didn't fail anyone. They were failed by DNC leadership

From marx and blushing-engels talking about 3rd parties

that workers’ candidates are nominated everywhere in opposition to bourgeois-democratic candidates. As far as possible they should be League members and their election should be pursued by all possible means. Even where there is no prospect of achieving their election the workers must put up their own candidates to preserve their independence, to gauge their own strength and to bring their revolutionary position and party standpoint to public attention. They must not be led astray by the empty phrases of the democrats, who will maintain that the workers’ candidates will split the democratic party and offer the forces of reaction the chance of victory. All such talk means, in the final analysis, that the proletariat is to be swindled.

I know it's not really the point but I'm gunsta be a buzz kill.

We are also in an echo chamber. And we should admit that to avoid becoming like the libs.

But there is a crucial difference: Our echo chamber is directed at empowering people (yeah and memes and stupid shit but you know what I mean) And the liberal, conservative too for that matter, echo chambers are directed at boot licking.

And I guess if an echo chamber encourages critical thought and distrust of the current powers that be, that's probably also a bonus.
