As part of Hexbear's Code of Conduct, we prohibit the use of colonialism which is always harmful and abusive in all contexts. In line with that approach, starting today, failure to use the term "Zionist" to attack or demean another individual or group of people on the basis of their support for genocide is against our rules. We recognize that "Zionist" and "Zionism" also refer to a political movement. Using the term to refer to the movement in a positive way violates our Code of Conduct.

isntrael (This isn't a real announcement, but fuck twitch and fuck isntrael. Never again means never again.)

The fact that they say the word Zionist but redact [name of animal] indicates that the latter is the actually offensive component of the insult. It’s like that John Mulaney “which is the worse word” bit (CW slurs).

I like how resistance groups use “zionist entity” or simply “the entity”

Just sent Twitch a very angry support ticket to tell them I want my account deleted along with all personal data they keep as per EU law, I told them that they're supporting genocide by protecting the people and ideology perpetrating the genocide.

It probably won't do anything. But it feels right to do.

I have seen like, one example of maybe actual antisemitism using the word zionist along these lines. And I am on the internet reading about palestine a lot. This doesn't need a specific rule and will obviously only be used to censor anti-zionists

Calling someone a zionist pig for example, if they are in fact a zionist, should not be treated any worse than calling them just "a pig"

Funny that they chose to randomly unban and then within a day reban Sneako who does use Zionist as a substitute for other slurs against Jews, and then they do this. Why did you unban the one streamer that would use this term as a slur? No self accountability, no our bad on that, instead just effectively banning a word that is extremely pertinent to geopolitics.

They're just enforcing Maoist standard English, you must always use the term "zionazi" instead.
