But real talk, I don't know why so many radlibs are totally comfortable with the term anarchist but communism is scary. Life in real world anarchist jurisdictions has always been far more terrifying and unstable than life in communist ones.

This isn't to say there aren't real anarchists out there, I've met them, they're the most engaged people to organize with at any sort of political demonstration/protest, but I know so many Warren libs that like to group themselves in with these people.

But real talk, my serious answer for why this exists is that there are a lot of people who have left wing political beliefs as it relates to the United States, but are poison brained about politics in foreign countries because of their older family members. It took a shit ton of deprogramming for me to even consider Israel as being bad.

Anarchists tend to put a lot more thought into alternatives than marxists do ime. This doesn't hold up to me

Vaush fans are people who are becoming radicalized but still exist in primarily liberal spheres of discourse. It's a period of transition, not a genre of people

Not sure if it's relevant, but you comment made me think of it- idk why so many people accept self-labeling anarchists at face value. Like people will post about how dumb anarchists are but they point to a comment on the vaush sub- those are radlibs at best why are you going along with the whole charade?

Yeah, I think it's something that should be said of all leftist ideologies. You aren't a communist or an anarchist unless you've meaningfully engaged in contemporary communist or anarchist struggles. Ranging from specific targeted protests to basic anti capitalist struggles like eviction fights at the more basic end to fighting in foreign wars like the rojava international sympathizers.

Life in real life anarchist jurisdictions has been every bit as chaotic as life in communist jurisdictions at the same point in their existence. You cannot tell me that war communism was a stable state of affairs compared to revolutionary spain or korea

Just wait until Biden is in office and pushing austerity, and then come back to these smug fuckers and remind them of how they argued with you about Biden being "harm reduction".

And at least Biden also called Trump a racist and said rich people need to pay more taxes. Who cares if his taxes are lower than Obama's!

Dont worry I'm sure they'll push Biden left and get the GND and M4A passed. Just ignore all American political history please

Barely. Check out anarchist(-adjacent) subreddits, there are very excessive amounts of Liberalism and electoralism -- hyper petty bouigiouse internet shit. Tho who am i kidding reddit just keeps getting worse. The communism subs are weird nazbol "ban drugs" places, the only good one i still really frequent is GenZedong, which although very based can be a little on the sectarian side at times for me.

I had a self-proclaimed anarchist tell me on r/tankiejerk, and I quote, "Castro massively persecuted gay people, established a surveillance state on his own people and induced a US embargo which continues to cripple the island's economy (only kept afloat by Soviet subsidies)." I don't necessarily disagree with the first two points but the last one is insane

Just the most disturbing shit to read from another "leftist". I love my anarchist comrades but ancom to neocon is really a thing, folks.

there's a injoke i've seen on leftist twitter that goes "who said this: anarchist or neoconservative?" and it's a screenshot of some comment an anarchist made that sounds like something a neocon would say.

              Ahh I see

Seems doubtful that was a committed anarchist and not just an aesthetics larper tho, and not representative of anarchists at large, imo

It factored out to $5 per year per person to build a commuter rail infrastructure in the city, but that was too much apparently.

What a goofy ass country we live in

I have extreme critical support for Biden (I'm voting for him), but I also have critical support of China, Cuba, Vietnam, etc. Possibly uncritical support for Cuba.

I mean I can't think of any socialist project that either needs my criticism or my support. Biden definitely needs the former.

I mean, Cuba needs your support, vote for candidates you think will end the blockade or bring attention to the blockade (La Riva is an example).

I mean Cuba would need my support if I were a WTO Commissioner or UNSC member, but as it stands in my currently ability to interact and effect the world, giving Cuba my "support" is a pretty meaningless rhetorical notion.

I mean the issue with that is it takes support and redefines it so that it doesn't involve the participation of or even effect the party I'm nominally supporting.

Essentially, it's taking support for Cuba and making about me and not anything to do with Cuba.

giving Cuba my “support” is a pretty meaningless

what. I don't mean like cheer them on or hang a flag up, support them by voting for a candidate like La Riva who wants to bring attention to the blockade. I'd argue that shifting the overton window to at least mention the blockade is a pretty big deal and not meaningless.

If you're upset that your "support" amounts to a single vote, then yeah, that's democracy. But use that little bit of power to vote for someone trying to bring attention to one of the worst humanitarian crisis caused by the USA. Harm reduction exists for people outside of the White Amerikkkan middle class.
