    tbf that kink in the US line where it starts to flatten after a huge spike in June/July coincides pretty well with the HHS department directly getting the data, I'm pretty convinced the Trump admin is massive fudging the numbers.

      Covid growth can be, and usually is hyperlocalized. I'm purely guessing here but I'd suspect they had a large outbreak in an area which simply burned through its potential and was successfully contained to that area.
